Congratulations Pittsburgh penguins. You have become the worst team in the league, even worse than Chicago and San Jose. When you give up 6 goals in the first period to Dallas, it shows to me that this team has completely given up.
As a Caps fan its sad to see. We might not like one another, but we have always paralleled each other in success and failure. We rebuild together, or win championships in the same window. How the Caps retooled is how the Pens should have. It sucks to see. We're supposed to be knocking each other out of the playoffs and hating each other. Pens really need to just tear it all down and start the process while they can.
One aspect of Hockey that i think goes under the radar is 'locker room chemistry'. It all starts in the locker room, and i guess it ends there too, win or lose. No matter how much money they make, if you hate going to work, then its gonna effect the work you do. Imagine being in the NHL dreading your own teammates company.
It’s funny seeing all the pens fans getting emotional and reacting like they didn’t know this was coming after Rutherford left and Hextall started ruining things. Y’all idiots were all excited when they resigned Letang and Malkin, ALL OF YOU CHEERED, like the idiots you are. Meanwhile I said resigned them is the nail in the coffin and I was right.

Possible future. Pens tank, get first overall. Pick up the new Crosby, win cup in 5 years. lol prob won’t happen but they’re falling apart so the first part of that crackpot theory is already coming true.
This team has needed new players and a new philosophy. For the last 3 years. Get whatever you can for everyone besides Sid, fire dubas and the entire coaching staff and start over.
Unfortunately all 3 Pittsburgh sports teams are just muddling through. Pirates haven't been playoff worthy for at least a decade, Penguins rely on Crosby who isn't getting any younger and Steelers haven't been in a playoff run for years.
If you ask me, it all started with the 2017 expansion draft. We were forced by League rules into a really tough business decision (all teams were) and Matt Murray didn't go on to become another Marc-Andre Fleury. We had no choice but to part with one of our Goalies. And knowing what we knew at the time it made sense to go with Murray who was 10 years younger and a 2x Cup Champ. It simply didn't work out. And to make matters worse, we had to throw away valueable draft picks to vegas in order to effectively protect Bryan Rust. Then comes the demoralizing loss to the capiLals in 2018 while closing in on a 3-peat😢. Followed by the NYI Sweep then Covid shit all over a good 2020 season. By then you had Hextall but the damage of trading a lot of valuable picks to keep contending had taken it's toll. And it just never really improved from there. I was just a little child and don't really remember the early 80's pre-Lemieux era, But I've stuck with this Organization through an 18 game losing streak in 2003 and all the relocation talks/financial thrash of the late 90s/early 2000s. So I've definitely seen worse. But somehow we'll make it 'cause that's what we do. It's just tough right now and it's gonna take time. Pittsburgh Penguins are my team till I die and beyond.❤🐧🏒

It isn't the layers, it is the management and coach. Sullivan is unable to adjust play style to players available. All management and coaches need to be gone last year.
