  1. Habs have no need for old expensive veteran defenders.
No thank you to cam fowler. Just as an addendum Anaheim is giving up the most shots against in the league. Yes and if Fowler wants to win a cup? He's further ahead to go to the Leafs for goodness sake. So no all the way around to Cam Fowler.
Bowen Byram just got moved to Buffalo. Crazy. Byram has provided all they want in Buffalo pushing past Owen Power and into the two spot.
This is starting to read like montreal canadiens fan, FanFiction, and the fan doesn't know much. Montreal is still looking to trade David Savard. Their defense is going to be worse by the end of the year, not better.
Simon Nemec is having trouble finding a spot in New jersey but he's a 20 year old defenseman and highly regarded. What are you giving up to get him?
Damon Severson who hasn't worked out in Columbus. NO
    Will Borgen , no.

    Jeez.
Byram and Nemec aren't coming to Montreal.

  2. Just no to Nemec. I think hes a perfect fit in MTL. Age, Position and playstyle but like I dont see New Jersey actively shopping this guy. Hes 20 years old and was a 2nd overall pick. Hes probably gonna be a top line two way defenseman in the next 3-4 years. They will have the cap to sign him too so just a no. And what would Montreal have to give up to even make this a yes? Dach, Evans, Savard, Monty + 1st? I dont think Montreal wants to do that.

Byram definitely more possible. I think again the age and position do match. But we really don't need offensive defenseman. Hutson is a legit pp1 line 1 defenseman who probably will be able to put up 75+ points. And I mean Mailloux, Matheson, Barron have all shown flashes or have been very good point producers. I don't see a spot for him.. But maybe MSLs A+ teaching turns him into a TWD? In that case. I think we give up again Evans but with the Calgary first and Kapanen for Byram.

  3. as a sabres fan, byram is going absolutely nowhere. KA has made it clear he isnt subtracting from his core and he just gave up mittlestadt. Hes also an incredibly stingy trader. Byram is playing around 25 min a night. guy is going nowhere at all.

  4. I dislike almost every one of these trades. I’d like to see Matheson for Jiricek somehow. And maybe we throw in Barron. We don’t want these overpaid old guys with long term contracts, why would we dig ourselves an even bigger hole.
