After this hit… does the NHL hate the Leafs?

Zack Whitecloud just got away penalty free with a hit which knocked Matthew Knies out of the game. We’ll talk the Whitecloud hit on Knies and recap Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vegas Goldenknights on today’s NHL hockey video.

  1. Good Lord. Keep your head up and this won't happen. Guys aren't gonna just let you skate by them. It's Hockey. If you're scared, go play tennis.

  2. Definitely shouldve been a penalty on that hit for sure but i dont think it was worthy of 5min tho? It was pretty close tho!? I don't think whitecloud was deliberately trying to hit knies in the head but he definitely should've controlled himself better to try to avoid making any head contact!? He really didnt need to stand up like he did, if he'd just stayed down like he was coming into the hit he would've made clean contact with knies' shoulder and chest area but by him standing up like he did he put himself too high!? It looked like he did catch some of knies' shoulder but he did make significant head contact and shouldve controlled himself better to avoid the head contact so definitely should've been at least a 2 min penalty!? It was pretty close to being worthy of 5 min tho cuz he did make significant head contact!? I think it shouldve been 2 min penalty then $5,000 fine and 1 maybe 2 game suspension!? Ive never liked it when players stand up and almost jump like whitecloud did in clip!? I hate seeing players doing that when they go for hits cuz too often it leads to penalties and possibly injuries!!?? They end up high sticking the other guy cuz they bring their hands up too or they just end up hitting them in head!!??

  3. Less so hates the leafs. More so blatant that they need the cup coming back to certain hockey markets to keep those teams surviving.

  4. I think you played down the hit too much, Eck. The player hitting…has the responsibility to not target the head. Reaves got 5…..which was over the top….and Whitecloud doesn't even get a penalty for a hit where he clearly rises to target Knies above the shoulders. Whitecloud had every option to stay down…and hit the chest. or even lower. Doesn't matter whether he was off his feet…or not…at point of contact. Knies is now on IR, as we speak.

  5. The hit is done with, the only thing left is Reavo taking Whitecloud to player court. The NHL can deem it clean and ignore the leaving the ice to deliver it, then the Leafs will have to dole out the price for intentionally blowing up Knies. Clean or not it was intended to flatten or injure and he needs to step up next game… It will get handled. The league should be well aware how it's gonna play out if they wanna say there was no infraction, dude jumped. F Whiteturd

  6. Also suspicious how the leafs play like no games in November after the leafs have owned November for years hmmmm

  7. If you played hockey its clean and he hit collar bone and shoulder then the follow through in an upward motion no intent to injure either just a solid hit

  8. All the casuals on social media: HURR DURRR
The league, players, even the Leafs coach who all actually understand hockey: Clean hit

Knies has a history of getting caught like this, hopefully he learns. The Leafs ending up with a penalty was the only off base thing about the play and outcome.

  9. Look from the other side, buddy. Chicken wing is there. Head is the initial soirce of contact. Say what you want about intent, it is what it is: a targeted head shot. Whitecloud exploited the rules to hide the dirty hit. More league bias.

  10. If in the utah vs vegas (I think) game, Lamoroux got a penalty for making no effort to avoid a knee on knee, whitecloud should have gotten a penalty for making no effort to not hit knies's head. That is an argument that should stay consistent.

  11. George Parros seems to have one set of rules for the Leafs and one set for the rest of the league. Bettman sets the rules for Crying Connie just like they always did for Whiny Wayne. Not allowed to be hitor they cry.

  12. How is that check any different than the Reeves hit against Darnell nurse? In the Reeves check, there wasn't even any shoulder or arm movement towards Darnell's head, he just barreled through and his skates were planted firmly on the ice as well. The call on the Knies hit was ludacris!

  13. FUCKING HEAD SHOT. CLEAR AS FUCKING DAY. if Whitecloud is wearing a Leafs jersey for this, he gets 5 and a game and a suspension. no question the NHL hates the Leafs.

  14. So I think it's a minor mentality as it is a hit to the head, I don't think it's suspension issue for three reasons one Toronto player was in bad spot slouched forward, and vulnerable do to his actions…you got to give some wiggle room to hit vulnerable players or everyone's gonna skate in a way not to be hit ..or they get rocked and hurt…two while moving up skates are on ice ye didn't leap up more extended to full height. Three the hit to head while bad wasn't as bad as it could be as it's not elbow etc it's firearm tucked into his chest.

  15. How else bring the on of the least penalized teams and constantly leading the league in suspensions

  16. REAL Leaf fans HATE the Leafs! They are a garbage organization that don't give a Sh!t about real fans only the corporate fans!!
