Jim Montgomery’s speech to team after first win with Blues
Blues Head Coach Jim Montgomery spoke to the team after his first win behind the bench – a 5-2 victory against the NY Rangers – at Madison Square Garden.
This team is going to make the playoffs now with Monty! that was by far the best game of the season and the most entertaining to watch that I have seen. no sitting back like lil d's I was bored with the Blues this season and even stopped watching some games but now I will be watching every game I can again. Monty brings a new positive energy to the team .. the city and the fans.. He is not boring behind the bench or in the media either. He is entertaining. great coach and great guy!
From a Rangers fan, this blues squad really put on a show and created a tough game so well done and very happy to see Monty coaching a squad that has some good talent, which can go deep in the playoffs.
It was so dumb for Bruins to fire him. He wasn't the reason they were losing. It was the talentless roster. But it is what it is. Proves why Bruins will never be a winning organization! GO BLUES!
As a Bruins fan, I'm glad to see another team now have to go through different line combos every game with an excess of too many men penalties because Monty confuses his players with his constant shuffling (bonus shuffles mid game, too, sometimes). Good luck with not choking in the playoffs when he plays an injured goalie (Ullmark).
Bruins fan here, can’t blame Monty for the Bruins being so bad after dealing away Ullmark, drama regarding Swayman and his contract, not resigning Van Riemdyk, DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, Matt Grzelcyk, Forbert and Shattenkirk. But Sweeney will always fire the coach for his screwups
