There are people in Detroit that would rather they get rid of everyone in the Red Wings organization at all levels, including ownership, than admit Yzerman isn't building a team that can even make the playoffs to say nothing about winning the Cup and is also part of the problem.

This title is pretty dramatic honestly. Not signing a 34 year old player who we’re just hoping is going to be their 2012 selves again, and has not played on a different team before, is not sabotaging the Red Wings. Title makes it seem like not signing Stamkos has set the rebuild back years lol.

I do agree the GM should have autonomy to do what they feel they need to do, but I must say I'm happy they didn't get stuck with Stamkos for four years at his age. They only two free agent signings he has done that I really like are Kane and Debrincat, the others have been underwhelming at best.
The Red Wings are spending the cap. To say Illitch wont spend is the stupidest thing ive heard on here. Maybe he's not giving his GM freedom to get the players he wants, but to say he's not spending is false

Maybe Illitch should be the President and GM of the team. Sounds like he has to keep little Stevie from making bad decisions and gave him a little spanking. Wanting to give Stamkos 4 years at 8 million per year is ridiculous. Yzerman has maxed out the cap with Illitches money and the team is a dumpster fire. This seems like a bad attempt to take the heat off Yzerman.
This whole story is complete BS designed to anger morons. FACT IS (I know facts matter little to most people) the Red Wings were up against the cap still having to sign Seider and Raymond. Wings are at the salary cap – in other words, ILITCH HAS SPENT EVERY PENNY HE CAN UNDER THE RULES! Different story if they were under the cap, but they are not. Choices between different players is 100% on the Yzerman clownshow-don't get it twisted. If you listen to these ratings hungry morons/believe that Foster idiot, apparently the Wings were the only team in the NHL allowed to be over the cap by $7M this year. LOL
