We need to talk about the injury to Alexander Ovechkin which has seemingly sidelined his amazing start to the NHL year… we’ll look at Ovi’s chase for Gretzky, his injury, and recap the Washington Capitals vs Utah.
Leading the league in scoring at 39. And on track to break gretzkys "video game number" scoring record from an era where goals were MUCH easier to come by. This was THE story in the NHL. If he misses 20 games because of this and still breaks the record he is the 🐐.
McBain's knee-on-knee hit broke Ovie's leg. Ovie will be out 4-6 weeks … if lucky. McBain in for a world of hurt when they play the Caps next. He better take a sick day.

I am a flyers fan……but I am also a HOCKEY fan. Ovechkin is an incredible scorer……been watching 50 plus years……this is the absolute worst thing that could have happened. Talk about hurting the sport………..When he returns he deservers a 5 minute standing ovation…the nhl should give out free t shirts with the number 8 on them to every fan at every game the night he returns. EVERYONE who loves hockey must stand with the GREAT 8. Dude is the MAN.Next time he comes to town and plays my flyers I hope he scores 3. If you don't love alex…….you should.

I would guess by the angle of force there was a slight tear to the patella tendon or ACL. 4-6 weeks sounds about right
