More defensemen? 🤔
Im not 1000% sure about trading for Jireck. It really depends what were giving for him. I think we should give like the Calgary 2025 First and a 4th? I mean they are getting a pretty solid first and a 4th for a guy who dosen't really fit. I think it's a slight downgrade from a 6th overall pick but a possible like 11th overall pick and 105th overall pick for that isn't terrible
i feel like we all want shit to happen now, after a few years of he rebuild. realistically we still have a year or two to go before they clear out some questionable, old, contracts. However, the foundation for a great team is there. Patience grasshoppers. it's coming together.
I'd be shocked if we get Jiricek
no thanks
We have Gallagher, no need for Cousins. Savard will stay and Evans ain't going anywhere, he had better or even stats 5-5 against Dach that is beyond Lame.
we had kovacevic 9pts 25 games and we traded him at least beet civic with the trade .
He Jiricek doesn't make the current Columbus line up as we speak. So no it's a bait trade. Jake Evans is our new Arturri Lekhonen, I don't think we could get any real value without hitting the core roste of any contender… he could be a nice bait to land a guy like Trouba… but Trouba doesn't any business with a canadian team. Atleast it makes people talk.
A star? Have you seen him play?
How about Evans for Jiricek?
Why are other team's player worth so much while he cannot make it as a top 6th in his team? So we should give in return Maillioux and a 1st round pick? Never would I go for it. This is happening too often that we should overpay for a player other teams want to get rid of… Baffles me!
TOO late we already made stupid moves for Dach Newhook and Laine.Jiricek is NOT someone we want to acquire he is a non impact player and if we can't find our own non impact players we better fire the staff.
Savard is lol bad wtf does veteran presence even mean and he doesn't block shots they just hit him becuase he stands around in front of his own goalie screening him.
We are worst than last year. There is no excuse. If we had kept monohan, we would be a much better team
Don't do the Jiricek trade. Too expensive. Doubt they want Roy or Mailloux, but could live with that. Only untouchable would be Beck.
Jiricek has never been great defensively. He’s very aggressive and has issues with positioning and poise.
If Evan's is 'cap-friendly' why not re-sign him? Montreal typically doesn't make deals with clubs in their division. IMO leave the kids in Laval to mature a bit longer before considering major moves. They need at least one mature stay at home D to clear the net so focus on that. Too many times our goalies have been hung out to dry with easy tap-ins. They gotta tie up that opposition stick. Thanks Josh.
The problem is the peewee coach …. Is not qualified to play defence first … Offense second
yeah lets trade for a soft, low IQ dman, just what we need Kent
What Hughes does with Evans will tell us if management knows what they’re doing. This is a guy that every team needs and wants on its spot at six. Montreal must sign them.
All these notions and rumours of the Habs meeting and wanting more young prospects on the defence is ridiculous. We have too many they need stability and they need a balance between veterans and young guys.
Davorak aint worth 4.5 just for winning faceoffs
The Habs have a lot of [POTENTIONAL] higher ceilings but for me, at some point we must hit on a [POTENTIA] becoming an actual. You cannot go very far as a [contender] if that is all you have in your lineup is potentials.
Ottawa made a number of missteps, Have not been able to solve their goaltending problem (Murray, kopasolo now Ulmark) the dubrincat trade , would have been solid if they were able to sign him, you can’t make that trade without knowing that, the Jeff C trade also made no sense given what they had on LD. I also think Gallant would have been a better coach than green, Still have some good pieces, but not convinced Green is the guy.
With Hieneman playing so well, Roy, Barron, and a second, if not add the worst first. Still have 2 second, 3 thirds a two fourths.I think Hieneman would fill a better 3 /4 line roll than Roy. The hope being top six would be, Suzuki, Slaf Cole, Dach laine and Demidov. Then we have Hage, Beck Evans Gally Anderson, Hieneman, Xhejka , Tuck filling out the bottom 2. Hage could replace Dach. 6.5 RD , hard to come by. I still think by the end of the season RHP will have a role. You may be able to replace the first by trading Savard, if not this yr, next yr.
If we can resign Evans for max 3 years, then that would be acceptable at the right price. But he's at an age he might be looking for a minimum 4 or 5 years. Which would be too long.
If Evans leaves Montreal, I would love to see him in Vancouver (my 2nd favourite team). The Canucks could use a right shot centre if they want to make a cup run, and they probably won't be able to sign him after that, which would open the door to him returning to the Habs in the summer. I think it might be worth just re-signing him now though. The Habs are very weak at centre, and having no-one who can fill that role might start to negatively impact the young wingers' development.
Habs offer Dach and Mailloux for Jiricek.
Thankfully we have Pascal Vincent who may know a little about Jiricek. But I agree your comment about having only young Dmen. We won't go far with a Dcorps, of Guhle, Xhekaj, Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux and Jiricek. Typically most stanley cup winning teams ahve a combination of veterans and young player. In 3-4 years, Guhle would be the only veteran. The others would still be honing their craft. Not sure adding Jiricek is the way to go, unless ne of Mailloux or Reinbacher are leaving, which is probably unlikely.
Mailloux and a 1st for jiricek? 😂😂 Mailloux is twice as good as jiricek
Huge could make a package for jiricek and Olivier 🤷🏼♂
Evans for Knies straight up or leafs can take a hike
Paid 4 millions too by like
Paid 16 Millions for four years
Likely ..good lock
MAILLOUX masby crezii ..tred !!!???
