The Vancouver Canucks fall to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a game where they almost comeback. Arturs Silovs had a rough one, Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes played well. The Canucks defence needs to be better and the reffing towards the end on a play involving Aatu Raty and Sidney Crosby was very questionable. Let me know your thoughts!

This team literally needs solid goal tending in order to make it. Silovs has not been good. Demko/Lank i believe would have prevented at least half the goals. Offense was great scored 4 strong goals but cant be giving up multiple easy ones.
Crosby should win an Emmy for his acting.

Feel for Silovs, but clearly not NHL ready yet. Myers and Soucy are pretty much guaranteed to turnover the puck few times every game and that's concerning. Besides that 1st period Canucks played good considering it was a back to back. Just have to move on to the next one and hope Demko is ready soon.

I watched the replays on all the pens goals pretty carefully. Maybe one goal he could be criticized for. The rest is just poor defence leaving him out to dry. Talk about a rough game for Myers.

That call on Raty was completely reasonable. You can't let Crosby bite his own lip when he's directly behind you. 2 minutes for child neglect.
Silovs is not nhl ready ..
I hope silovs can pull it together and have at least one more good game before he most likely gets sent down again 😢

Silovs solid as a soup sandwich and a soggy start sees a sorry story stop the streak. From road warriors eating bears, to roadkill. That's what I get for dissin' RFK Jr. Everybody knows he blocked more shots than the Canucks. His dad and his uncle even stopped a few, too.

I still can't believe the Canucks letting all the defencemen go. What happened to Zadrorov? crikey. Myers, Soucy and Hronek continue to just cough up the puck in their own zone!!! Juulsen scored on his own net??? wt in the livingfk?!?!? Silovs was left on his own on at least 3 of those goals. Why was Soucy chasin a guy from deep in the zone all the way out to the blue line??? There was a guy chasing him already. That left Silovs to defend a 2 on 1. The def was sleepwalking in the 1st period.
Why do the refs hate the Canucks? The calls against Raty and Garland were utter garbage. I didn't see Garland hook at all. Crosby should have gotten a diving penalty on the Raty play. Raty should not have gotten anything at all!!!

I thought they did well coming back 5 to 1. They should really treat Elias Pettersson as a player that plays the point more. He has the hardest shot in the league.

I can’t believe the coach started silvos or whatever his name is, other goalie just stood on his head getting a shutout and shouldve stayed in between the pipes while he’s on the hot streak!
Juulsen was at fault for at least 2 of those goals. just let his man go. It's easy to blame the goalie but you can't let the Penguins stand alone all in front.

Personally I don’t put as much blame on Silovs for the atrocious first period. 3 of those goals were from wide open unmarked backdoor players and another one was basically a 2man breakaway (although Silovs positioning wasn’t good for it so definitely needs improving)

Where's the Silovs that won us the first round last year? He was so clutch against Nashville but I'm not seeing that same spark from on. On the plus side, Lankinen is still 8-0 on the road 😉
