  1. Figures Vegas would be the one going high risk/ high payoff, but even if Jack doesn't come back, they just dumped a ton of salary off the books. The only way they can really lose is if he comes back and sucks, long term, dragging the contract out for a paycheck.

  2. I'm happy he didn't go to the Rangers (too risky/Rangers are looking good without him), but most of all I'm happy I don't have to hear any more Eichel rumors.

  3. Krebs hasn’t produced at the nhl level yet because he’s played little minutes on a limited role. He will get a bigger role in buffalo and will produce.

  4. If the Rangers had done this it would've been Strome Kakko and picks and Eichel would never play or be a shell of his former self. So glad that time-line never happened. Or if it did, I'm not currently living it.

  5. Jack going from Buffalo to Vegas is like Dorothy … from dreary black & white to full blown color.

  6. Hum. not taking into account the monetary side of things…. I feel Vegas might make out like bandits. I dont think Krebs will pan out as a top 6 threat. Tuch is solid now and a smart move. teams like Buffalo need players like that, who already have the city tattooed on their heart.

  7. Not a fan of the trade. Feels like we are trading away our future for a player who may not even play and possibly never play ever again. I remain to be convinced otherwise.

  8. Fact is; Id rather have sent him to vegas for what was considered a lot to them v send him to the rangers, kings, or ducks who were offering crumbs from their pantry and wanted him for free without giving up anything they considered a real asset. To vegas this was a real deal where they gave up some real assets. the other 3 teams mentioned didnt want to give up anything they considered even remotely an asset. So they could go pound sand.

  9. As a VGK fan I will be excited to see Eichel (playing) with a Knights sweater on though I am worried that it may be a long while before he is on the ice. I will miss Tuch and he is a class act and a talented, big and fast forward…but frankly he has been injury prone the last few years. btw- I now live near Vegas but grow up near Buffalo and worked in Syracuse (Tuch's home area) for many years. Weird huh??

  10. I fully think Eichel will recover (100% and hopefully in time for Team USA to win gold) ,but Buffalo prospects are very deep at this point. Granato, barring some uncertain mental collapse
, should have this group playing world class hockey within 2 to 3 years. We may end up.a .500 team this year which honestly, unbelievable considering the expectations. Sabres our clearly on the Bills philosophy and I'm all for it. Bring in people
Who are grateful to be hockey players in a hockey market. People act like the Sabres have been trash for more than a decade. The Buffalo Sabres have been competitive throughout the 70s, half the 80s, most of the 90s, most of the 2000s, and unfortunately sucked the past decade. Like the Bills with Rex Ryan to SeaN McDermott, it just takes time to find the tight personal.

  11. Interesting… might not be a popular opinion but I think Buffalo got the better deal, they gave up Tuch, Krebs, first and a second and whoever they lose to get the team under the cap when everyone’s healthy… and that’s assuming he comes back 100% from the surgery. This could easily end up being a setback for Vegas. For a Buffalo team desperate to move a star centre, Vegas absolutely overpaid.

  12. No, Buffalo didn't get a big piece in return, so they didn't win at all. Other players/picks in the deal are magic beans…

  13. As a Calgary fan I'm kinda glad he's gone to Vegas. Eichel is a great player but Centre isn't a weakness and in Lindholm the Flames have a great no1 Centre, imho.

  14. The long demise into the abyss has officially started for the Golden Knights & their fans will have the owner to point their fingers at for the years of misery to come, period!!!

  15. Vegas shot themselves in the foot with this trade. They think big names are the key to fix all of their problems when in reality it's just a move to get people to stick around if the team still sucks in February. They'll now have to trade out more people, probably Marchessault or Smith or both just to get under the cap which will only piss off the fans and players more since those two were there from the beginning. Maybe next time McCrimmon will think about fixing problems with people in the system instead of going for another big name like Malkin or someone else in FA but who am I kidding, he's a gambling addict, perfect for him that he's in Vegas

  16. Speaking from some one who had the neck surgery, unless there is some mishap that happens, Jack will be fine. I'm not only better but improved. Now that said, I do work out and am physical but I do not have men hitting me hard and fast as he would. Just a perspective from someone who had the surgery

  17. If Krebs keeps developing, Tuch lives up to his potential (was Vegas best player for much of the postseason) and Buffalo drafts a good player with their 1st round pick then this will have been a tremendous return for Eichel who's time had ended in Buffalo anyway. Could be a great deal!

  18. I think Buffalo got all they could hope for under the circumstances. This is not the 2019 Eichel right now and there’s no guarantee he’ll be there again. Good trade both ways.

  19. I like the trade for both sides ,but, if Eichel comes back strong and plays well, then Vegas wins the deal initially, the picks are the wild cards, any of those picks could turn out to be a star player in the making–we shall see and thanks for another great report.

  20. Horrible trade for Las Vegas. He'll have an artificial disk in his neck. Once accidental clip of Eichel's head on a body check and he'll be forced to retire.

  21. Eichel can do marvellous things offensively but I've seen too many times where he emotes negatively with bad body language, slams his stick or breaks it in half and according to sources, ignores certain teammates. He is not captain material. Let him slam his stick elsewhere.
