The New York Rangers win in big with a 7-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. Rangers depth scoring has been quite notable to begin this season and it was definitely in this game against the Habs as we saw all lines contribute for at least one goal.

I was yelling at the TV on that Montreal PP goal. Trouba was perfectly positioned to make the play on Suzuki (Who waltzed around Lindgren like he wasn't there). but instead he he follows Newhook out of the crease and allows the score.
That first period was a classic. It reminds me of some boxers or UFC fighters that just wait patiently for that perfect counter punch. The Canadiens were flying to start the game but got the gas kicked right of them when we made them pay for their mistakes. We aren't even playing our best hockey and we are beating the dog sh*t out of respectable teams.

I'd agree so far that the Rangers offense does look better without Wheeler an Goody. Smith and Edstrom have been great. Edstrom made the play of the game last by beating the icing call to cancel it and fed Brod for the easy goal. However, with that being said. It's still waaaay to early to call them elite. Rangers haven't really played a good team yet so let's hold off on calling them elite and no, I don't consider the Leafs a top tier team.

Look i mean, you try to win the cup every year, HOWEVER. It feels different. The standards this team is setting for itself early are super telling. I have never seen Artemi Panarin look so dominant with the puck. The effort level of this entire team is all you could ask for. Like a bunch of hungry dogs. Pay Igor. We wont care during the parade.
