at this point im thinking either push for a playoff spot or "push" for a good draft pick.
Need more good players so while I’d like them to play well as a team I’d be happier with individual development of youngest players and a high first round pick so we can get a difference maker at center. Or defense if we can’t get a center.

couturier contract has gotta be one of the worst contracts in flyers history. the fact theyre paying him 8 million a year until 2030 is utterly insane.
the man has been in a constant downswing since 2018 and is a shell of his former self. back surgery is no joke.
if you took away the history and just judged the current player, the dude would be in the AHL. I know that sounds ridiculous considering how good he was 9 years ago, but the current player he is doesn't belong on a nhl roster. His contract will haunt the flyers for years and withhold them from achieving any sort of success

The team seems so out of synch right now. They struggle to connect on passes, they don't control the puck well in the offensive zone, Zamula and Risto have been awful, Drysdale shows flashes but not often enough to really make a difference.
I do buy that one day the team will break out and score like 7 goals. That feels very possible because, my God, there has to be a night where they don't hit the post 3-5, miss the net on 3/4ths of their shots and miss at least two easy tap in goals.
They need to bottom out if they're trying to rebuild. Need a legit number 1 center AND d man. You're only getting that through the draft.
I don't care who they scratch, we need a win.
