Avs fan here. There was more to the Byram/ Mitts trade than meets the eye. Mitts will be a decent #2 C, but it will take time to fit into the complicated game plan that the Avs use. I should imagine that he will be closely tutored by Coach Bednar. Sad to see Byram go, but it is understandable that the Avs wanted him gone considering his head injury history.
Look, say whatever you want about the Sabres. Yes theyve been mismanaged and underperformed, and yes they havent been relevant in a while. But the one thing you cannot say about the Sabres is that they once lost to their own zamboni driver. Only one NHL team can claim that, and I would argue that losing to a literal zamboni driver that you employ is far more pathetic and humiliating than anything the Sabres have ever done.
2 years ago the sabres missed by one point. Who beat them? Florida. covid year when they had a 24 team playoff the canadiens played 3 more games than them and they also made the cup finals. Bad luck.
Nah its the browns dude. Giving deshawn watson almost 300 million guaranteed was a joke for a guy with all his legal issue and hes sucked since. Worst contract in sports history
This just seems like sabre hate…browns are easily a worse sports franchise and the leafs have just as bad a legacy, if not worse. And let's not forget the cubs, yes they won it all in 2016 but before that went a 100 years between championships…..
Buffalo might not have the best record but they're no where near the most pathetic franchise in pro sports. That title belongs to the franchise that actively covered up for a sexual predator and enabled him to commit an additional abuse after they knew he was a monster. The Shithawks are, and will always be, the definition of pathetic.
Right up until the end where you say they will have a great forward corps in 24-25, this was fairly well done (though you failed to mention the disastrous signing of Villa Leino). As for the current crop of forwards on this team, I’d have to say the chances of them and the word great being used in a sentence together would improve if the sentence was along the lines of what a great disappointment they are/will be. Hard to believe that based on one season for each (Thompson and Cozens) the team signed their “top” two players to long term 7+’million/year contracts. Neither player has done much beyond their one breakout season, and my guess is one or both will be gone before the end of the 2026 season. In fact, I won’t be at all surprised if the team “blows it up” AGAIN, in the faint hope they can ever become a real professional organization again. Sadly, the current owner has no clue how to build a professional hockey team, so the likelihood of that occurring is very, nay extremely, low.
I’m sorry that still pisses me off as a sabers fan, I really don’t know how the oilers still got Connor mcdavid, I feel like the oilers had to pay someone to get that shit,
Maybe if Buffalo didn't trade away so many good players, they could actually make something happen. Everyone on the team now is effectively just a no name in the wider league (don't hate me Sabres fans, that's just how I see it). So many stars have come and gone, it's a shame.
Another Toronto fan's perspective obviously. Stay North of the border pal, we're sick of you and the NYC elitists dumping on our town and weather. The people here are the most generous and genuine that you could ever want, go fuck yourself.
Shout out to the Leafs 😂👊 gotta love the shade. But also can you do one on the Canucks? God that franchise over the years has made some bad decisions, including the worst trade in hockey history, naming a goalie their captain followed by a soft Swede as captain, trading Luongo for nothing after signing him to the dumbest contract in history to that point…..I could go on.
It’s Terry and Kim nothing else. Organization sucks Adams did absolutely nothing in his 5 years except let fans down and it looks like they going for 14 fucking years missing the playoffs.

The Jets are way more pathetic
Chicago White Sox since 2008
Terry Pegula needs to be put on trial for war crimes with the way he's allowed this team to deteriorate into a shallow grave.
He owns something like half of all of the Sabres playoff-less seasons during his tenure. FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE FRANCHISE'S HISTORY.
This is what 13 years without playoffs feels like:

We’re not as bad as the Jets.
I’m a Sabres fan…. And this is very truthful this franchise has been pathetic over the last heck forget 13 years since 2007
Didn’t even mention the neck surgery mess that led to Jack being traded
They have one of the nicest jerseys.
Well it looks like mcdavid and Jeff skinner will be playing together after all
That defence is absolutely disgusting. That is gonna be scary to go up against in a year or two
Yeah i still dont think I'd put the sabres over the browns or clippers as the most pathetic sports franchise
First time here. I’m a leafs fan and I hate you for life 😂

You forget to mention Evan rodrigues and Kyle okposo were on the panthers for the cup win
Kreuger was the coach during the the winless streak
attendance was low because the arena required vaccinations. And they sucked.

The sabres have been a winning organization untill 2011.
I would say until April 2012 that the LA Kings were probably worse. They had a horrible playoff record.
Detroit Lions won 2 playoff game in 2023/24 for the first time since 1957
As a Sabers fan this hurts, but man they have become a joke. I can't even argue it
They also in a tough division to add to the difficulty

They just need right leadership in the office, just like Florida did. They got the players to build a great team around .
