I have a new term for this trend. I call it the "golfization" of youth sports. I grew up in a place that is home to one of the stops on the PGA Tour. The thing is everyone from the second coming of Shooter McGavin to the local real estate agent who gets super excited when they dip below 80 to the cardiologist who can't hit his 3 or 5 iron without slicing…the only way you can tell them apart is when they play. When it comes to "drip" and equipment, everyone looks the part. Unless you know all the pros by face, it would be nearly impossible to tell. So, these kids definitely look the part, but it's easy to look the part in the locker room.
