  1. THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SAID!!! IT'S PLAIN AS DAY! HE SAID ONE OF THE BEST! IT SEEMS LIKE WE HAVE TO LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING THESE DAYS NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS…

  2. Sorry Joe but I'm going to have to say you're wrong here. The greatest QB of all time wore #16 for the San Francisco 49ers. 4-0 in the super bowl. 11 TD 0 INT and 3 MVPs. Just look at his playoff run in 89. Doesn't get more dominant than that! And had it not been for Leonard Marshall he'd be the only QB to 3peat.

  3. Dan beat Joe All 3 Times they played in the regular season.
    Joe got the Super Bowl.
    Hey Joe,Next year I'm buying!

  4. Definition of Class: Knowing most consider you the GOAT but you name a direct contemporary as great. Class. Great ones don't have to say they're great. Pretenders do.

  5. Dan "The Man" Marino was my favorite. Eagles fan, by the way. Also, could you imagine if Montana hadn't taken those hits he did?!

  6. JOE MONTANA WILL ALWAYS BE MY 🐐 DAN MARINO GREATEST PASSER OF ALL TIME I ALWAYS LIKED DAN MARINO GREAT Q.B HE WAS

  7. In terms of physical talent, Marino was better than Montana but Montana had the intangibles, the “it” factor that couldn’t be quantified but allowed him to rise to the top when it mattered the most

  8. And they didn’t have a couple dozen rules back then that made it almost impossible to touch the QB like nowadays. Those old QBs almost always took a big hit after releasing the ball.

  9. The other thing is that him and Joe played in a more violent league than Tom Brady. Wish people would stop using TEAM accolades as individual ones.

  10. Love to see a few of those old school guys nowadays. Imagine Marino, Elway, Young and Cunningham playing in 2024. Would be fun

  11. It's interesting, because–if you put him in Dallas in the 90s[even with less mobility than Aikman]–are we talking 60,000 passing yards(even with Emmitt)?! Dan got rid of it so quickly that the 85 SB would have been in serious doubt if Miami could have gotten there to face the Bears that year in a rematch. I feel like SF matched up with them way better than Chicago, because SF was an all-around defense whereas Chicago had secondary issues if you could process their rush in time(Marino was one of the very few QBs that could that year). So, Marino could have won a SB–if Miami made it–and–in so doing–they would have made the 85 Bears the best team to not win a SB! They had Marino and 2 quality WRs(not much size), but not a whole lot else…

  12. Marino was the greatest QB of all time at the position. He would have had 60 TDs a season in the 21st century.

He was tougher than ANYONE who played this century and his release and accuracy were uncanny.

You don’t have an opinion. It’s Marino.

Favre, Elway, Manning agree. And now Montana

  13. He didn’t say he was the best of all time. He just said he is under appreciated for the level of talent he had. I agree with him on that but Marino was no Montana by any stretch of the imagination.

  14. I don't care what anyone says. Dan Marino was the best quarterback to ever play. SB or no SB. And if you come to me with an argument that he wasn't because of no SB then consider also the best running back to ever play with no SB (Barry Sanders).

  15. Marino was prolly the biggest choke artist in sports history. Could never perform on the biggest stages….
