If he gets 35 points per game, you can hardly overpay. That would shatter some NHL records! Darius was talking about 35 points per season. You guys are way apart on your guesses. Nick's 35 points per game would get him the all-time points record in a single season.

If he stays healthy and scores like 40-60 it's worth it. If he gets 20 points a season it'll be a disaster. If he gets LTIR then it'll be partially salvageable

Waiting until the end of the season to sign Knies? That’s just crazy talk. Sign him now. And watch his progress get better and better. Like Nylander before this contract where he was signed at what was it? 6.9m? Lot of may Dwyer’s out that contract down at the time. But Nylander showed in tue end it was a cheap contract.
Knies value will go through tue roof by end of season. And instead of signing or trying to sign the kid at around 5 mill will be out the door. The leafs would be stuck paying the kid maybe arojnd 7 mill.

I think TOR should trade either Liljegren, Kampf, Timmins, Robertson to make cap space for some one like Vatrano , Coleman or Crouse if any can be gotten.
