Last season was a success.. hands down they made the playoffs… the “tie breaker” rule is 100% bogus and needs to be reevaluated. #LGRW #TrashThePatch

I think some fans forget how bad the 2019 roster was and how long it can take to repair a mess like that, especially when you only get 1 top 5 pick (Raymond at 4). Detroit has piece milled a roster while developing a lot of solid prospects over the last 5 seasons. Those prospects should get the chance to get on the ice for at least a season before evaluating whether or not the rebuild i's a success or failure. Lot of expiring contracts or contracts they can get out of at the end of the 24-25 season creating roster room. Additionally, Detroit stayed healthy last year and the odds of that happening 2 consecutive years are against them. I think we see several of the youngsters this season and next and afterwards, we can gauge where this front office is at.

Lalonde and Yzerman can get on the same bus out of town if they miss the playoffs again. Enough excuses.
We talk about Yzman getting fired when his picks are in the NHL and they are capped out with no real chance at a cup.
Kasper, Danielson, ASP, Cossa(Trey) and MBN are on the team with no real path to a cup.
That’s when we say Yzman failed
Lmao let’s be real the wings have no chance of making the playoffs with that goaltending and go awful d core outside seider and edvinsson(who’s due to have struggles as it’s his first full season)
Yzerman will be in trouble if the likes of danielson pelikka Cossa etc … bust …. it’s time to play a few kids and see what we have and eat $ and get rid of garbage like copp. I’m watching this season for the kids and not expecting anything remotely close to a playoff spot compared to last season
The talk of Yzerman being on the hot seat is laughable…he was handed a dumpster fire and has taken awhile to dig them out. The team has improved significantly, especially over the last couple of years. Takes time to rebuild the entire system, not just the NHL team
Only way Yzermans loses his spot is if he quits or gets promoted.
Anybody who's angry at Steve Yzerman demanding playoffs this year is delusional. Of all the teams in this podcast Detroit started their rebuild with less and has received less during it.
Detroit's highest pick was fourth in a weak draft year. When Steve yzerman took over our best prospects were Zadina, Veleno, and Burgers. The top players on the team where Larkin, Bertuzzi, and Mantha. No team has moved down in the draft more than the Red Wings. You also have to stop thinking the Red Wings rebuild began before 2019. From 2016 to 2019 Ken Holland was actively working to destroy this team, intentional or not. He failed on every first pick since Dylan Larkin. Apologies to the moose.
Buffalo has had four top two picks in the last 10 years. Ottawa started with Zebinajad (sp?) Mark Stone and Karlsson. The other three teams have all picked higher in their lowest years.
I think Yzerman will be on the hot seat if Danielson, Kasper and Cossa don't work out. I think we should be okay if the team takes a small step back or does the same as last year. However, next year is a different story since a lot of the bad contracts are coming off and some of these kids should be ready.
It sucks at all these teams are in the Atlantic and shooting for the same two wild card spots.
