I was hyped for the fight but I rewatched some rountree fights and I cant see him surviving the first round, I hope Im wrong, would even be exiting if he wins. But he walks backwards or just stands flat in the pocket without alot of output, you can do that with smith etc. but I see alex being able to hit him early. Maybe he can somehow avoid the hook since hes southpaw…and if he can land a clean shot he might be able to pull it off but idk.
The music around the last couple minutes sounded like I was on hold to book an appointment and destroyed the hype of the video for me…..
Every single DEEPER DIVE video I've seen on this topic feels like the hosts spending 9 minutes desperately trying to convince themselves Rountree Jr has a chance, and then 1 minute going "yeah, easy win for Pereira"

I think this will be much more of a dogfight then what ppl think. Khalil is very explosive and fights like ppl owe him money. Poatan will at the very least respect his power. Khalil‘s problem will be endurance. Someone that explosive and built like Khalil can rarely maintain the same output all 5 rounds.
I think Alex will win, that left hook is legendary, but it will be closer then what jiri and hill were.
Khalil deserves the fight.
Ankalaev refused to fight Alex at 300, Khalil got suspended so they replaced him with Ulberg. Hill vs Ulberg, Hill drops out of that fight with injury. Then it would have been Anthony Smith vs Ulberg. Ulberg pulls out. UFC rewards those ready to step up. Khalil was that guy and has been getting finishes.
Alex MUST take as many fights as possible, his almost over the hill.

Rountree is a total killer when he drops an opponent. If Alex can keep the fight standing he has an obvious advantage considering his powerful lead hook is nearly kryptonite for a hands-low southpaw. Gonna be an interesting fight.
