This 4th line salary has been proudly brought to you by Marc Bergevin

  3. Love Matheson with Struble while Guhle is recovering

  4. I would be happy with this lineup opening night (with Guhle in for Struble

At this point I’m not sure you don’t swap Newhook and Roy.

Not sure I’ve ever gotten the sense that Newhook is a top-6 type guy, but he played really well with Gallagher and Pearson last year in their limited times together (PP2 and PK2 I think).

Meanwhile Roy seems like a good setup guy for Laine in my opinion.

Using only the players present, I’d personally go:

    Caufield – Suzuki – Slafkovsky

    Roy – Dach – Laine

    Armia – Evans – Anderson

    Newhook – Dvorak -Gallagher

And that’s only using the players present in this lineup.

    I trust MSL best though.

    Thanks, I’m not a fan of it. It should be this using the same players;

    Caufield – Suzuki – Slafkovsky

    Roy – Dach – Laine

    Gallagher – Newhook – Armia

    Dvorak – Evans – Anderson

Just like Anderson got way too many games on the first line last year, I’m willing to bet Newhook gets way too many games on the 2nd line too. I’ll get all the knee jerk downvotes, but you all know it’s true.

  7. Can’t wait to see Hutson in the right seat. NCAA 1D to NHL 1D is a bit steep.

  8. Hutson being pared with Savard is a great choice in my opinion. Savard has enough experience to be able to covert more defensively which allows Hutson to be more offensive. Hutson is smaller and very fast so he needs to be with another defender that’s able to keep up / renforce the defense, Savard is able to do that. It’s a great rookie/veteran pairings.

Struble has been looking gritty as hell in these preseason games, glad to see him up with Math 🧮

get u someone who loves u as much as marty loves top 6 newhook

  11. GolfIsGood66

I would love to see Roy given a shot with Laine and Dach

Just haven’t been a fan of Barron’s game in the preseason. A lot of mishandling the puck and has been a turnover machine.

  13. wildcombination

Switch Kapanen for Dvo and we’re set.

Put Newhook in the 3C position, bump Roy up to the 2LW positon, sub Kapanen into Roy’s old spot, and swap Armia and Anderson. Keep Dvorak as a 13F

    Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
    Roy-Dach-Laine
    Kapanen-Newhook-Armia
    Gallagher-Evans-Anderson

The Defense is fine, but I’d expect Hutson-Savard to become our most-used pairing. Hutson on PP1, Matheson on PP2, Savard and Xhekaj on PK1, Struble and Barron on PK2 (and use PK1 most often)

    RDS reports

    **PP1**
    Suzuki – Slafkovsky – Caufield – Dach – Matheson

    **PP2**
    Newhook – Roy – Laine – Gallagher – Hutson

I think I’m happy with our top 6 a lot. I would guess we rank in the Top 10 best in the league (when considering Newhook gets replaced by Demidov).

But our current bottom 6 is just pitiful man. That needs an upgrade real quick. Can’t wait for when the new kids flow in and these expensive contracts get dumped. Which would also open our cap to upgrade wherever we need to

Still not convince with Newsy as a 2nd line winger. Would rather have Wawa on the second and putting Newsy at center on the third with Gally and Armia. Evans, Dvo, Andy for the 4th.

  18. Dry_Standard_3604

I’d be willing to bet a significant amount that the official lineup on opening night will list the Dvorak line as the 4th line.
