On June 24, the Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Florida took a 1-0 lead in the first on a goal from Carter Verhaeghe off a sharp pass from Evan Rodrigues.
Tied at 1 in the second, Dmitry Kulikov swept away the puck from an empty net — and Sam Reinhart scored on the ensuing rush.
The rest was up to the Florida defense which clamped down on the Edmonton offensive — with the help of some stellar goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky.

An infectiously great personality that Schmiddy has. He’s going to be great for the morale of the team and I think he will be a perfect replacement on that bottom pair that OEL left behind.
Welcome Nate!! He seems like such a likeable personality and a great fit for the room, and I loved how enthusiastic he was about the system, the challenge of it and how he could fit in. I'm getting ready to fall in love with him, slightly easing the pain from the departures of Monty and Lomberg and others [sniff sniff]
Welcome to the Territory, Nate!
Welcome Nate!
I like the reporters were cool to him and stated welcome to South Florida.
