Nick Ritchie of the Boston Bruins didn’t even get a minor penalty for this hit on Scott Mayfield of the New York Islanders.

  1. Suspension worthy or not, this is a better analysis than the nhl does in their videos. Well done bud.

  2. It was a weird play. I’m not even sure why Mayfield decided it was necessary to go down on one knee to make the play that he then wasn’t able to make but he also put himself in a vulnerable position in doing so and yeah Ritchie may have taken advantage of that but I can’t tell you what was in his head.

As for suspension?—there was no penalty on the play and no injury—just an angry Mayfield yelling at the refs and you’re only going to get a multiple game suspension if there is an injury and for the playoffs it’s less than the regular season. No chance at 3 to 5 games.

  3. 4 games! You are fucking high! Its the playoffs and the play happened so fast and there was no intent and no injury. The fine is fine.
