They changed the rules after Makarov won the calder in lieu of Modano. In modern rules Sergei Makarov would have had too many pro years played to be eligible.
Craig from Vancouver again. All this rookie talk spurred me to look back into Dallas' previous 10 1st round picks. Omg – I forgot about the 2014 draft. We had the #14 pick…& we chose D Julius Honka. Guess who went next at #15…..F Dylan Larkin! I think this would be a fun video for u to explore….previous 1st round woulda/coulda/shoulda picks. How different would Dallas be if we drafted Larkin instead of Honka?….I wanted to add….About Lundqvist…I think it's pretty obvious they signed him bc they plan to trade him at the deadline in a package deal for a bonnafied top 4dman. Andersson in Calgary perhaps….Lundqvist & a 2nd round pick…something like that. That's my guess. He's trade bait so they don't let him go for nothing.

As long as the refs can do their job and call the headshots, like he received during the playoffs, Stankoven certainly can. I worry for him and his future if they don't start protecting his head.
