Grebenkin (who you might know as Grebyonkin) has done really well in the KHL, a league that famously couldn’t give a fuck about developing young guys who are going to bolt for North America as soon as they can. He caps off his run in the KHL with a Gagarin Cup that he played through injury to win and he’ll be at training camp in just a few weeks. What kind of player is he? Here he is in his own words:
> “It’s wrong for an athlete to describe himself. People should do it. Fans should see my game for themselves and describe me. I will go out and prove on the ice and in the arena that I am ready and that I can play at this level. I know it’s difficult, but it’s all in my hands.”
That’s a great attitude if you ask me, I wouldn’t be shocked to see a call-up to the NHL in his near future, even though I think he’s a Marlie this season.
