I’m an old goalie. Played for 30 years. The goalie was out of his crease and cut off the players momentum. Nowhere for the player to go. Goalie was milking it as well. No penalty

Shooter was watching the puck goalie came to his left to try block the shot. Goalie didnt lean into the shooter, shooter didnt lean into the goalie… FFS people that was a hockey play you call interference to help control the game for running over the keeper ejection is to much.

I do feel that goalies a lot of times are out of the crease and I kind of asking to be hit but in this case the player made no attempt to avoid him I had to do is lift his left foot and kind of turn his body sideways and he probably would’ve missed it but he made no attempt penalty
Bad play.. but don't think that Cizikas was attempting to truck him… you can see his front skate hit the goalies stick which causes him to stutter, dropping his body down. Pretty sure it wasn't an intentional shot to his head.
For all the idiots talking about “he’s outta the crease”…the crease used to be bigger and the guy just barrelled towards the net and smashed into a goalie stopping his shot without even avoiding it. If you think you’re supposed to stop pucks and just let people smash into your head because stopping it pushes you 2 inches to the left then we’re gonna run outta goalies pretty quick.

I love how people are saying the player made no attempt to avoid the goalie. What's he supposed to do? Give up on EVERY scoring chance because the goalie decides to rush out of the crease to narrow and close shooting lanes? This "player safety" fad has the sole purpose of taking out any physicality from hockey, might as well make all checks illegal and get rid of all defense from the game. No goalies at all, just wide open nets and let the teams just shoot the puck from center ice and who ever gets most goals wins. Goalies are now the bitches of the NHL since they're now INTENTIONALLY putting themselves in positions to get hit and draw penalties.

I'm surprised at the lack of immediate retaliation from any of the Blackhawks. When Bortuzzo of the St. Louis Blues ran into Tampa's Vasilevskiy, multiple pairs of gloves instantly hit the ice as Tampa players raced to be the 1st to pound Bortuzzo.
I prolly would've gave him a 5 but the game misconduct is way too excessive. And for the record, a goalie IS NOT fair game once he leaves the crease. The same rules don't apply which is literally a fact. (Unless the goalie does some crazy shit like a Dominik Hasek flying pokecheck or something like that) I've been a goalie for almost 13 years so Ik what I'm talking abt
What a bunch of bologna. The homer commentators are wrong – guy didn't lower his shoulder, and the goalie came out in front of the player driving past the net, not through the crease, at the last moment.
Why the hell is he upset. He needs to be suspended 20 games. I'm sick and tired of seeing goalies run over like that, especially when it's on purpose like this.
There should have been gloves littering the ice from Hawks players taking exception to that hit. I went to an ice hockey game and a golf tournament broke out.
The player has tons of time to avoid contact if you slow it down to 0.1X speed, even with the goalie sliding out into his path. In real time, though, this is not a penalty. Get off your couch and get on the ice, bunch of pussies.
