Connie is the class of the league and I love having him as GM. This stuff has been nothing short of heartbreaking for the families, friends and two entire cities. Hell, the entire hockey world. I'm really proud of Calgarians (and those in Columbus) for taking so much time to honour this young man's life and accomplishments. He was a tremendous teammate and gave so much to the community. He was my favourite Flame and in my opinion, the most purely talented Calgary Flame player to ever play. I love Iggy but this guy had to overcome so much to become the player he was. So many young, smaller players grew up looking up to this guy. Rest in Peace, Johnny.
Itβs so difficult. I canβt make any sense of it. Deep, deep sorrow. So much devastation just because of what someone decided to do and that horrible decision changed all our lives. My heart goes out to his family. As a mom, myself, my heart is totally broken.
Conny is always so good with words. Between this and the open letter the other day, you can feel the amount of love he has for Johnny and his family. Conny it a great example of what it's like to be part of the C of Red, from his time in the jersey himself all the way to now as GM.

Losing Johhny was the first and only time I have shed tears for a pro athlete. Love greatly everyday. It could all be gone at any moment. β€
