Noah Dobson is clearly the highest regarded defenseman on the New York Islanders but where does he stand among the best defensemen in the NHL? NHL Network released their top 20 list and Dobber was on it, but where did he rank and was it a fair assessment?

Top 20 ? Top 25 yes. Good offensive d man that is shaky in d end and isn't physical enough for a guy his size. 8 needs to be more complete to be a top 10-15 d man. Kind of like 13-best on isles, not elite enough for top 20 in nhl. One article says 8 could be traded. One scenario-to oil with first varly for leon or to laffs in marner deal. Louzer can't even re-sign 8 until 27 or 44 go bye bye or till next off season when 21, 29 (maybe) come off the books. 8 could then be an offer sheet target big time if louzer's limited cap space remains after season.

I don't need Dobson to be a physical defenseman in the mold of Victor Heman but where I need for him to improve is consistently making clearing pass and outlet pass
If he can do that I would put him at 10
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders Noah Dobson is on the list of the top 25 defenseman in the NHL. Dobson is ranked 15th, which is good, still in the top 20. There's more to it than putting the puck in the net. Lou Lamoriello's past is coming back to bite him like I knew he would. If he has another good season like he did, he'll move up on the list. The Islanders will be national TV 10×, and they'll have a chance to sign. They won't be playing The Rangers. I remember the first time they played on national 📺. It was back in 1975, when they made The NHL stand up and take notice they were playing The Flames when they were based in The ATL. I hope Matt Martin does come back. I understand that the emphasis is youth and speed, but there's also experience to consider, too. HAPPY 🎂 RADICK MARTINIQUE. He was reliable, and dependable. Good morning team! How is everyone doing today? Gil, thanks again for what you do, keeping hockey going all year long. As for Dobson, it's no secret he's a favorite of mine. For me, he doesn't need to be among the league's top D-men. He just needs to do the job, in Roy's scheme, to help the team win as many games as they possibly can. As for D-men around the league, I don't rank him too high, but again, he doesn't need to be. There are areas of his game that need to get better before he is among the top D-men of the league. Dobson is a decent enough defenseman when he doesn't have the puck. it's when he gets the puck in the D zone that he drives you crazy.
And yes, would have been so good to still have Toews. I go to Quinnipiac games frequently, so I get reminded of him regularly.
