Podkolzin To The Oilers: A Full Breakdown!

Last night in Vancouver, there was quite a lightning storm! Today, the skies were clear and peace was restored. Little did we know, the Canucks front office was cooking up a storm! In this video, I break down the Vasili Podkolzin trade.

  1. What do you think about the move? Did the Canucks get enough value out of Podkolzin, or should they have tried to inflate his value during the season?

  2. I was mad but makes sense the more I think about it.

    No room in the roster

Can't get through waivers without getting picked up, so may as well get somthing for him

More cap space plus ltir for someone else like a top 4 dman

  3. even if he does turn into a great player, If it wasn't happening last season then I think a change of scenery is a better explanation than him suddenly getting good next season

  4. Every teams needs different roles filled. A fresh start is always an opportunity to carve out a future, especially for a young player.😊

  5. I mean it sucks because he was tenth overall but the more you look into it the more sense it makes. No offence generated in his lasts 2 seasons in the NHL and only .64 PPG in the AHL. No space for a guy like that on the Canucks roster right now.

  6. I wish the best for Podz. It's just unfortunate the Canucks didn't have enough runway left for him to take off. I have doubts the Oilers will either, but that's yet to be determined. The Canucks will come out ahead with the 4th rounder 100% for sure. I say this because which forwards would you move to make room for Podz? It was a win for Podz to get a second chance with another club, and a win for the Canucks to gain an asset with a pick they can use in a package trade for a top 4 D man before the March deadline.

  7. As a canucks fan living in Edmonton, podkolzin is the only oilers jersey I'd buy 😅
