Callaway Rogue ST Max Driver | ONE BIG PROBLEM!?

Callaway Rogue ST Max Driver | ONE BIG PROBLEM!? In 2022 we have already seen two of the heavy weight golf brands release their new drivers…. are they going to be the best driver of 2022? the longest driver of 2022? the most forgiving driver go 2022? the best forgiving driver of 2022? the best mid handicap driver?Could it be the Taylormade Stealth? in this video I test the new Callaway Rogue ST Max driver. This is part of the new Callaway Rogue ST Driver family including the Max, the Callaway Rogue ST Max LS, Callaway Rogue ST Max D, Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond Ls… for me this is definitely going to be one of The best golf clubs of 2022… but there is ONE HUGE PROBLEM… Let’s do it… and let’s do it now!

  1. Not trying to be a smart arse but maybe you should get Crossfield to have a look at your swing? On the 2 drives you hiy just before 7 minutes into the video, you were aiming SO FAR to the right and standing the shaft of the driver up further slightly on the downswing, instead of shallowing it out. Maybe it's a parralax error with the camera angle but looks like you're aiming SO far right and pulling them hard. Driver looks nice though. Don't know about the price. Pre release pricing in Australia is $930 AUD!!!! Scary stuff!

  2. I think they don't like mavrik. The jailbreak was their greatest thing in decades. Big Bertha line is iconic but not for everyone. The xr was ok. I have the razr fit xtreme and looking for an upgrade to a Callaway that hits the same but better, feels the same and sounds great.
The rogue name may be their new flagship. I don't think gbb is going anywhere but maybe it is. Rogue may be the new consumer line of drivers and offer pro as well. I mean they could call it Callaway driver. And add letters and numbers like some cars do. I don't know why they even name them. I guess to mark a year. They don't need a new driver every year. Just upgrade or update what they have. You really just need to keep making new ones without changing anything. If Something works great don't mess with it. Keep doing R and D till something significant comes. Moi has tournament restrictions. Size etc. All good drivers hit about the same for most. But it's the mishits and high handicappers that benefit from new tech that can add 20 yards, or correct a hook or slice, etc. Some tech might help slower swings get more speed off the face. Many brands make great and conforming drivers. The shafts can make big differences in performance as much as the head does. If not more. Proper club fitting for shaft, grip, lie etc is important. But you have to know the driver you want. I feel taylormade is too light and I just can't swing hard enough. My Callaway has I nice weight and adds energy to the ball. I just like the new jailbreak idea. Rogue may be the newc standard. Perhaps a different line will specialize in something else like carbon fibre faces.

  3. Also maybe there is something to Jack Hamms hammerx shaft. The driver was bust. But the idea of a aerodynamic shaft might be something. To keep head movement to a minimum. That was one thing I wanted to try on a regular driver.

  4. I just put this Rogue driver in the bag after watching countless reviews and it's been a game changer. Had the Epic Max Ls for a bit and enjoyed it but mis-hits really took a toll. Switched to the ping g425 max and again a solid driver but couldn't get over the sound! This Rogue Max is awesome paired with the Tensei Blue shaft which is supposedly a mid spin shaft but my spin number went down quite a bit from any other driver even with custom shafts I had. Finding fairways consistently over any other driver. Maybe it's more mental now I enjoy this driver the most but truly an awesome release from Callaway! Awesome review and enjoy yours over most. Keep it up!

  5. Great review but yet again no talk about what shaft you’re using. The head is just a part of the driver. The shaft is what generates the power to make the head hit the ball as with the person making the swing. It’s a combination of all three not just the fancy driver head.

  6. I went with the LS and it added 20 yards to my average over the max and the Taylormade I was swinging. Great feel

  7. I’ve played the 2018 Rogue driver for a few years and really liked the control it gave me. Last year I bought the Epic Max looking for additional yardage but went back to the Rogue. When Callaway came out with the new Rogue ST Max this year I thought I’d give it a try. Well, I found my new club, great feel and sound and I am getting longer drives off the tee. I’m glad I gave this club a try it will definitely be in my bag for years to come.

  8. Hi James
I do like your channel.. but the title was one big problem.. I watch the whole thing and am confused as you haven’t said what the problem is. I am about to pick up my new callaway rogue so thought I would watch it but I am none the wiser mate !

  9. I bought a Rogue ST Max Driver after testing it against another driver on November 24, 2023. After two weekends…the shaft broke at the center. Went back to Dicks. They referred me to Callaway customer service. Customer service was really helpful. They sent me a new shaft within a week. They said they wouldn't charge me if I sent the broken one back within a month. Installed the new 5.0 shaft on Friday. Took it out to play Saturday… and it broke again almost at the same place, after only two drives! I am by no means a big hitter. I am 59 and hit between 180-200 yards on average. This is absurd!
