Sry guys but I'm not sure I trust your opinions.
There are no teams in the playoffs right now who has a 10MM plus player, and the Leafs have 3.

Ekblad's not great defensively. So no he's not a good fit being as defensive players are what the Leafs need
Every NHL team knows what TO desperately needs, thus TO will have to over pay in a big way to get a top four guy. Soooooo……
We need big bodies period a bunch of punishers that will make you think twice about skating into a corner
good player yes… but for a big guy its seems he can't really take a hit anymore… due to the dirty hits hes already been hurt by, so unfortunately they might just be trading for a headache instead of top d-man

Ekblad wouldn't be bad, I'd be happy if we got him, but he's one guy at $7m. We really can't count on just one guy; with that money Dubas could just as easily get two guys (maybe three if he's lucky) who don't have the same star power but do have the defensive responsibility the team currently lacks. We don't just need a partner for Reilly, we need a D core that's only half-built right now.
My Panthers better not give him up. We need him as much as you guys do.

Keller plays in Arizona, an environment that can't win in a market that does not care for them, and got pretty much overshadowed by Hall
Marner is playing on top line in Toronto
If Keller goes to Toronto, he will DESTROY his previous point record
Dion Phaneuf was great defenseman in his prime years with the Calgary Flames.

I don't see the Panthers trading objectively their best defender to the Leafs who also have the same need. Also, these rumors start before they even have a GM? This is honestly ridiculous, and the Leafs would have to waaay overpay. Alternatively, the Panthers would only do that if they are going full rebuild and empty the roster of the likes of Barkov and Huberdeau as well. Cats core is really those three players.

Aaron Ekblad isn’t getting traded. Next. He was a top 15 dman this season and would require an unbelievable amount of capital to get. It would start with Nylander or Marner ++
