It’s never too early to do a Power Ranking is it? If nothing else we can use it as our baseline heading into the regular season. We each give our 1-8 rankings of the teams in the Central Division, and there are some surprises.
We also get to the results of The Athletic front office poll. The Avs ranked well with one glaring difference between the general public and the Colorado Avalanche fan base.
Finally, no sport compares to hockey when it comes to nicknames. So we throw out some of our all time favorites.

Uh, Chris? Nintendo "originated" in 1889… I know you aren't exactly a kid, but you aren't THAT old.
My top four for the central would be…
Winnipeg at four i think they just got worse..
Nashville at three because they have good players but no one knows if they'll gel well so three seems like a safe bet.
Im putting Dallas at two because i think losing a player like Tanev will hurt them more then they're new additions will help.
Putting Avs at one because they're mostly the same team from last year plus mittlestadt now. And i dont think they lost anyone important enough to actually make them worse.
But then again this'll all come down to who's more consistent which was the Avs real enemy all season last year. Like you just can't whip the floor with Edmonton,Vegas, and LA in a week then lose to Montreal, anaheim, and Chicago the next. Its just not a good look.
And finally for a good nickname… ill admit ive been watching a lot of peter forsberg highlights lately. But "peter the great" seemed to fit him pretty well.
Definitely a player id grab for this current Avs team if i had a time machine.
Also, watch out for Nashville if they have another concert cancelled. They’ll win the cup for sure this time round 😂

AVS development is a F, they Rather trust another teams development of players, It seems they never give them a large sample size of the NHL, they give them a few games and jerk them back .
