I think the jost trade was a fleece by Minnesota, they got a player with upside to possibly play in the top 6 if he can fill into that role, for a bottom 6 player that is pretty good defensively which Colorado needs, but they gave up a lot of time imo
I am sad to see Jost go, but I really understand the reasoning. He has a lot of untapped potential. It can be frustrating to watch him play as he flashes some offensive talent now and then, but just can't seem to get the points on the board. I hope he finds his touch in Minnesota. He could become good third line center or even middle six center if things take a good turn.
You broke the Jost trade for me! The trade has to do with Cap space in my opinion. Jost is $2M for this year and next and Sturm is 725k for this year. It helps fit Mason and his hit (even with retained) under the cap.
No, Tampa still got the best D core.
I’m a Flyers fan. I think a perfect trade would be Giroux to Avs (50% retained) for their 2023 1st, Sampo Ranta, and Justin Barron. If you give up that much for Manson of course you’re gonna have to give up much more to get Claude Giroux.
As a DucksFan, not a fan of Manson. Helleson is alright, should be a solid mid pairing dman, one day soon. The 2nd is solid for retaining a meh salary UFA. Hopefully now that Bob Murray is gone, Hellson won't get buried, like many other quality prospects, for the Ducks.
sakic got fleeced in both trades lmao
Avs don’t need to do much more IMO
As an Avs fan, I hope they try to get Fleury in goal. Has so much playoff experience and the Avs haven't got past the 2nd round for the past two seasons.
And they might get Giroux 😳
Sad to see Manson go, but understood it was coming. Honestly shocked Rakell hasn’t been traded in the last 2-3 years so I’m expecting him to leave soon. Hoping Lindholm can get resigned. Really think he is underrated at times. It’s been crazy watching Anaheim the last decade (well really just since Bobby Ryan and Selanne left) destroy their blue line to try to find scoring. Looking at all the D-Men Anaheim has traded or left walk since 2008 just guts me. Some had to be done (like Vatanan for Rico), but still
What are the avs gonna do when kadri gets suspended in the playoffs again?
I feel like a massive part of the Jost deal was that it gives the Avs more cap space to make even more deals
Win win trades for both teams in both trades if you ask me. Manson will be great for the avs as a shutdown, physical defenseman. Young forward who is much cheaper out of strum and good at faceoffs. Just is a good fit for Minnesota and Anaheim received nice future building pieces.
Does the Manson trade set the bar for the ask of chariot
I live in Manitoba where can I watch attack on titan season two and three
Byram is coming back? I thought he was done playing all together! Must have misread something😂
The key issue that GM Sakic was trying to address was physicality and durability, with those moves. I do believe a change of scenery for Jost will help. He's a good bottom 6 player, just doesn't have a ton of offensive upside. These two deals made the Avs better, for sure.
So glad you ended up making a video on the Manson trade. Was waiting for your take
Jost is better than sturm lol
this is gonna be a lackluster trade deadline so don't get too hyped
Who is your fav Vancouver or Detroit my buddy and I are having a debate
Jost is probably cheaper than trying to keep Sturm around as far as next year goes is my guess. I would assume we were in talks about trying to sign an extension with Sturm, but this option became available and was preferable for us. Still, the Avs are lucky to be the ones to capitalize.
Can you make a one round fantasy draft where you take the best players to start franchise. I think that would be interesting idea because there is so many great players to build around.
Laine to colorado for:
2022 3rd
2023 1st
Samuel Girard
Sampo Ranta
Martin Kaut
Helleson and Zegras played together at the U18’s so maybe a little chemistry already
Excited about both of these trades. Gotta get more physical.
GO AVS GO!
I like those trades, they make a lot of sense and they got the right value, that's what you gotta do, these GMs did a great job
Sturm is so much bigger. The key to the trade is Sturm is 51% at faceoffs and jost is 37%. Matters in playoffs
The Tyson Jost trade is interesting
Solid trade for the Avs
Giroux? That would be weird, and tbh should you get other pieces than one guy with huge salary? I doubt he will be that impactful, their goalie situation isn't really giving me hopes they will win a title, plus two defensive D's, is that enough..? Yeah I know you can't always get what you want, just saying there has been chances
And Colorado still couldn't beat the Coyotes
Its a three horse race imo. Av's canes panthers.
I do love your fantastic picks like this one. Very interesting trade between two hostile teams.
Sturm is 6'3 208lbs to Jost 5'11" 194lbs. Sturm is bigger. Sturm is also better at the dot 52% to 39%. Jost is rumored to have asked for a trade two yrs ago bec he was getting passed up on the depth chart (and he was). Manson has the playoff experience and has proven to be a hard big bodied hitter having over 250 hits in 2016-17. The Avs need that big body next to a smaller Girard or Byram.
Really sorry for Tyson Jost but Hockey is a business and the players are commodities and treated as such. Good trades for the Avs. Go Avs go!
looking good these trades now, Manson has been absolutely worth every bit of this trade
