Do we honestly think Seider's role is going to change that much? Sure, he may anchor the 1st PP more, but he is still going to be against the other team's best lines. Maybe 10 more points. Ghost had the luxury of not having those same demands.
We know he has it, just depends on if he can use it. With reinforcements coming up over the next few years hopefully Seider will be able to play to his full potential instead of carrying the D on his back every year.

Seider is really overrated. He is a better than average defenseman, but he is average in a lot of areas. His skating is average, and his shot is average. His blocking shots, physical play, and passing are better than average, but defensemen who block shots and play physical don't have long careers. He isn't a Hughes or Makar.

Joey "I was exceptional 7 years ago" Veleno is pretty much a bust of a 1st round pick. Whatever he is gonna show, he has already shown. He is gonna have a career as a bottom 6 player.
He is infinitely replaceable, but with a 2 million, 2 year deal, he is gonna be hard to move.
What makes me nervous, is when Larkin or Compher get hurt this season, he will move up. Because just like they did last season, they will dragoon Exceptional Joe up to the top 2 lines because Copp is incapable of playing offense.

Scotty, I would be interested to see what overall percentage of high danger shots other goalies face vs. the Red Wings goal tenders? Meaning, do Wings goalies face 30% of shots from high danger areas? 35%? How about other teams, 15% or 20%? This could make a huge difference in overall save percentage.
I love the off season "what if scenarios". I just read a scenario, from this morning, that would send Aaron Ekblad to the Wings in return for Ben Chiarot and a 2nd round 2025 draft pick. The reasoning is that EkBlad is in the final an $8 million contract while Chiarot has $2.7 million left for two more years. So the main driver is salary dump. Although it sounds a little crazy, if that was to happen, it would free up Seider to do more offensively or at the least lessen some of his workload.
I would love to see 60 points 200 hits 200 blocks. 😍😍😍 love having that type of player on our team.
I could see Husso only getting sporadic starts. I see Lyon being better if he doesn't have to play every night. If he and Talbot do a 50/50 split, then you have husso for when injuries happen.
