The first question of “What if?” Wednesday pertains to Jamie Drysdale, and what it’ll mean for him and the Philadelphia Flyers if 2024-25 is a lot like his first in Orange and Black, marred by injuries and/or a lack of production?

BAD TRADE
Pretty normal for a defenseman to take longer to develop even if they have nhl ability early
Jamie likely will not have very good numbers. And yes JonesBriere will still say he's great.
It drives me crazy that we couldn’t just roll out the carpet for Cutter Gauthier.
Hear me out…
I’ll talk in terms of EA sports NHL games as silly as this sounds
Mitchov at his highest could be rated 90-93
While Gauither might have a ceiling of 88-89
No player on this team that’s even young is gonna hit that high of a potential. These two could’ve been budding stars for us for years to come and all you had to do was just give him a spot on the team.
Drysdale will be traded after he flops in Philly . He lost three years of development,.he is small, injury prone and can't play defense. We lost the Gauthier trade big time, especially when Gauthier becomes a top power forward.
I doubt Drysdale does much this season. Injury prone. He'll try and play safe.
He really needs a full season or big chunk of this season to be injury free or he's going to have that label the rest of his career.
It really depends on how the power play performs. If he can be a solid mover of the puck and the power play jumps from worst to say 19, and he's a large part of that with addition to Michkov? Then we're gonna have a fun season. But if he struggles and gets hurt it's gonna be a LONG season for Jamie Drysdale
He just turned 22. Anaheim rushed him into the NHL. Him having an up/down/mediocre season it isn't the end of the world. Him missing a lot of time due to injury would be concerning.
The Flyers defense is in awful shape right now. Zero top pair guys and are relying entirely on York, Drysdale, Sanheim and Bonk right now … thats atrocious. Even if Drysdale becomes good offensive 2/3D, which is probably best case, we still would need a true 1D.
