Toronto Maple Leafs sign Alex Nylander to AHL contract, an updated look at team’s salary cap



Another Nylander will join the Leafs organization, but why did he not land an NHL deal? Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti discuss the Toronto Marlies agreeing to an AHL deal with Alex Nylander and wonder if there is a chance we could see him with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.     Alex as a Marlie is fine. As an NHL option, there is a reason the Blue Jackets let him go. 25 goals, 49 points minus 11 in 121 games. Alex Nylander is Alex Galchenyuk without the talent. The Leafs have enough soft players who think defending is beneath them to add another. If Alex, either Alex for that matter, wanted to be NHL regulars, they would have worked more on their defensive play and spent less time padding their stats.

    I'm Nobody Important and i do synch radio and TV. it only works when i can adjust a time shift to get them the same. the TV must be ahead of the radio. i pause the video just enough to be the same as the audio. it is fun. AM announcers are always "homers" and I like that.

    Slight correction. The CanWNT game mentioned at the open of the podcast, a 2-1 win over France, was their 2nd game of the Olympics. The first game was against New Zealand on Thursday, which they won 2-1. COC appealed the 6pts penalty today, hopefully they'll get an answer before their 3rd game, against Columbia, Wednesday. If Canada wins the appeal they should go through to the knock out round. If the appeal is denied, Canada needs to win against Columbia Wednesday to continue in the tournament.
