[POLL] 2024 /r/DetroitRedWings Prospect Ranking Thread – #10 Prospect

Now that we're past the draft and free agency it's time for the yearly /r/DetroitRedWings prospect ranking thread! As for how you vote it's completely up to you: some may weigh ceiling or upside the highest, others may weigh NHL readiness higher – there's no wrong answer on how to vote.

A new poll will be posted every 2-3 days depending on how close the voting is until we finish the top 15 prospects. I'll include 10~ prospects every poll and will add one new prospect after each poll so discuss in the comments and whoever is mentioned most will be added next.

Check out the subreddit's previous rankings here (starting from 2018!): LINK HERE

NOTES:
– Prospect criteria will be defined using the NHL Guidelines.
– After last season's rankings there was a poll to determine whether or not to display poll results. Continuing to hide the results between polls received the most votes.

Danielson and Sandin Pellikka might end up being the best NHLers in the long run, but right now, Kasper is probably the closest to being NHL ready.

Going Lombardi here. He showed some sparks last season in GR and hope this year he can slot higher up at times and take a big next step. One of the few high risk forwards Yzerman has taken in his time as well.

There’s very little reason for Wally to still be on the board. He’s gotta be the guy here.

Buchelnikov is an undersized skill player who hasnt shown anything gamebreaking other than shootout ability. Combine the fact that he is in Russia with no reports of him wanting to come to NA and I simply do not understand the hype. Picking him above Buium, who literally couldn’t of had a better season in NCAA and is now in GR is asinine

  5. Between Wallinder and Buium, but I think I’ll go Wallinder

Could go a few ways here. In the end, I think it just shows how deep our pool is. It’s just too bad that we never got a top-level game breaking superstar forward over the years.

Max Plante is going to surprise some people here.

I’m aboard the Lombardi hype train. He needs to put on like at least 10 pounds this summer, but he could end up being a major player for GR this season if he does.

I think Wallinder is also an acceptable choice. Special mention to Plante as well. He might have one of the biggest upsides in our system if he hits.

We’re at the stage where, even if there’s an nhl player here, they likely won’t play higher than the bottom 6 or bottom pairing

I wanna take Wallinder but he’s already 22! and had an unimpressive year in GR after showing some promise

Buium is 1 year younger BUT I think he’s proven less than Wallinder has last offseason. He has to break out this year in GR and idk if that’s happening

I was really hopeful for Lombardi last offseason but shit he’s already 21 and had a mediocre year in GR despite showing some flashes

I previously thought of this current tier to be Buch, AlJo, Wallinder, and Buium in no particular order, but I’m changing it up last second. The move here is upside and I like Max Plante here
