Until it doesn’t work you don’t break up the armia newhook gallagher line.

I actually wouldn’t mind if the tried dvorak-dach-anderson. Dvorak helps with the draws for dach who has historically struggled.

That also gives ypu a more stable 4th line

  3. Slaf- Suzy- Cole, ; NewH, Dach, Roy ; Josh,Dvo,Gally; Armia, Jake,Pezz/RHP

I was gonna be optimistic for next season but after seeing lines 2-4 😬😬😬

  5. Things can only get better for Anderson, right? 😞

  6. DocGubernaculum

Adding a top 6 forward to this group would be attractive.

Roy and Hutson will make the opening night roster. Imo its gonna be something like:

    Cole-Nick-Slaf

    Roy-Dach-Newhook

    Gallagher-Evans-Anderson

    Rhp-Dvorak-Armia

    Ex: Pezzetta

    Matheson-Guhle

    Hutson-Savard

    Xhekaj-Harris

    Ex: struble, barron.

That’s a compliant 23. I think its fairly likely habs get another forward, mcgroarty or laine maybe, and get rid of a young D in the process though. But there really isn’t a reason why roy and hutson shouldn’t be on the team. Especially Roy. It would take a disastrous camp.

Dach needs a co-center until he get his faceoffs percentage out of the 30s%.  Cant give up that much puck possession time.

How is Josh Wawa not on everyone’s opening night roster at this point?

I’m so confused as to why Roy is not on this projection. In my head, he more then succeeded his short passage with the Canadiens last year. He’s ahead of RHP and Pezzeta and I would see him start with Dach.

    But that’s me…

I would drop Anderson down to play with Dvorak. He ruins any creativity of teammates. Keep that line a simple north south, fast, big body line. I would also have Roy playing with Each. He showed skill and intelligence last year. Seems like he would be a great fit for Dach

  12. JustFred24

Lane Hutson was just a collective dream… shucks

  13. 3oysters

I really feel like Roy has mostly earned his spot already, and would either have to be injured still or have an awful camp not to start with the main roster this year. Hopefully he can step up into that 2nd line roll.

Not many other nitpicks about this projection.

  14. At the risk of being unpopular…

With Dach’s return, I think we should break up the top line. Dach is going to need good players on his line to succeed.

Last year, before being injured, his line with Slaf and Anderson was very effective.

On the first line, we could either try out Roy with Suzuki and Caufield. Armia could also potentially be a good fit if he can be consistent.

I really would like to see Guhle – Barron reunited.

  16. Beefiest_bison

The goal for that forward group should be to make one good line out the bottom 9.

We don’t have the depth, but we need to maximize Newhook and Dach specifically.

  17. Roberge96

Struble never gets any love. I’d have him in the lineup any day over Barron and Harris. The guy was a tough defensemen in our own end and could move the puck well for the breakout. He deserves more recognition lol

  18. Studly_Wonderballs

    Call me crazy…

    Slaf – Zukes – CC
    McGroarty – Dach – Demi
    Roy – Newhook – Gally
    Armia – Evans – Anderson

  19. Monctonian

That’s not a bad line-up, as long as nobody gets injured.

Lane Hutson first player to win the calder from the AHL ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

Always get a weird feeling in my gut when I see Dach in a projected lineup

  22. IcyChard4

Too premature to predict the lineup in the middle of July. A lot can change from now till the end of preseason. Also, due to the Performances of Anderson and Gallagher, I think they might be relegated to either the middle six or bottom six. That top-6 slot is also up for grabs and the only 2 players that are capable to slotting there are Demidov (possible he could come here depending on his KHL situation), Newhook, and Roy.

  23. Hodler79

This is a zero effort lineup prediction. Not a single prospect on the team. This is less of a prediction and more of a copy paste from last year’s regular lineup.

  24. Perry4761

Forcing Anderson on the 2nd line again would be CRIMINAL. He has to earn it like everyone else.

Judging by last year’s performance, my projected line up would be more something like:

    Slafkovsky – Suzuki – Caufield

    Newhook – Dach – Roy/Armia

    Roy/Armia – Evans – Gallagher

    Harvey-Pinard – Dvorak – Anderson

Roy and Armia can switch spots depending on who performs better out of camp.
