P/GP is wild given that Sid played most of his career through the lowest scoring era of hockey.
Last 2 seasons had more 100+ point scorers than the 20 seasons before that combined

Crosby is up there in the goat discussion, imho. As a swede, I got robbed out of Forsberg being healthy beyond the dead puck era. Crosby is as close as I’ll get with that. Crosby should get more love. Fuck the pens

So if he signs a four year extension, you know what’s motivating him.
He won’t say it but he knows winning another Cup won’t happen with Pittsburgh for at least a decade. But it would be nice to get to stat levels where there is only empty space between him and Gretzky

30 assists to be the teams all time leader is a done deal if he plays the whole season.
400 face off wins to be all time leader, he had 1000 last year, done deal if he plays the whole season.

Also only 46 points from passing Sakic in all time points to move into 9th most. If Sid can manage a point per game for the next two seasons he probably passes Mario and Yzerman to move into 7th most all time.
If he plays 3-4 more seasons he will probably end up 3rd or 4th all time with only Wayne and Howe ahead of him.
