I think too many people rely in information from people like Larry Brooks and Elliot Freedman. Their speculation is often times wrong. Stamkos wasn't leaving the Lightning either was he.
I think Truba is going to stay, their normt going to trade him giving up something and retaining salary. For the gain if the trade, it simpky doesn't make sense business wise. If he steps up his game, he is worth keeping another year.

i thought of that – what if the nmc language is tied to the residency so in effect the NMC still stands. which is why the team would want to leak that they have a deal on the table. secondly i was watching a video by a former players wife who was saying that these agents make these ntc lists so that all the teams with cap room are on it so effectively a NMC.
before trading or waiving trouba, you need to make sure your replacement is actually equal or better. the window for decent replacements has largely gone.

Jacob Trouba is rich. $40M from NY alone. Retire. Get a nanny. Figure it out. I like Trouba but he is preventing the team from getting better. I also liked McDonagh, Callahan, Buch and many others . Ill get over it after a few wins.

If the residency was so important & time sensitive, then why did they decide to have a kid during that period? Makes no sense to me. Trouba cares more about his lifestyle in NYC than actually being an effective hockey player while getting top dollar compensation for his job. That much is obvious.

Trouba won’t play another game with the Blueshirts. Because his nursing wife doesn’t want to move to Detroit (Trouba is a Michigan native), a trade with the Red Wings was nixed.
His wife might accept him being traded to the Devils or Islanders.
I'll be sympathetic towards Trouba's personal life when he's sympathetic towards mine. Until then I care about the Rangers winning the cup and he's a large impediment towards that goal.
