Great intro
damn i missed the stream. nice to see the lanky Latvian put pen to paper on such a team friendly deal. I'll catch the next one live. keep up the good work, Trev!
Silovs is just a average goalie imo he had a good playoffs, but adrenaline will do that. Even Halak had a good run with the habs. Im concerned about Demko tbh . His health and knees/groing might end him.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it to you but I heard he was not eligible for arbitration, I am glad we signed him, Silovs the Spider!
The tank in my picture is the M4A3E8 on display north of Rogers arena at the Beatty street armoury.
You need to get to a full B.C place even if you like NFL more!
It's a great signing at a great price. The one thing which gives me pause is this too'k half of July to get done. That makes me wonder if the Canucks played hardball with him. He might stick with us in the short term but if he is in any way bitter about getting underpaid that resentment could grow and he may be quick to leave in 2 years when this contract expires.
In regards to Tolopilo he actually outplayed Silovs in Abbotsford last year and if not for experience he may have gotten the shot in the playoffs over Silovs. Clark said he has some of the best physical tools he has ever seen in a goalie. If Silovs underperforms I really believe Tolopilo is going to be a beauty as well.
Enjoy this great deal both sides. Because Silovs will be paid when helps us get back to the cup final.
next is a poolman trade. good for both. silovs gets one way deal. we are set in goal. still worried a bit about the defense. hronek on his own pairing would solve problem but who would play with hughes?
if canucks trade a player, not poolman, who would they move?
predicting petey with the boston connection, heinen and debrusk. petey will have a monster season.
if that happens, where will hoglander play? ist or 4th line?
I feel like Silovs took a cheap deal because he sees the previous goaltenders that have been built from this Organization so he wants to work with Clark and improve. Its a smart move. Money at his age right now doesn't matter because he has lots of time in the future to do that.
Saved a bit, maybe 200k, but I'm not sure it's a steal yet. He's still unproven RFA. Nobody was going to offer sheet him and his agent knew it. Goaltending is about consistency not a 15 game streak with great team defensive in front of you. Most people don't realise Tolopilo was out playing him in Abbotsford.
