I find it wild especially with defenceman that the people who draft these guys are usually gone or close to being gone before these players even become full time nhl players.

Trouba and 3.8 mil in cap space sounds great to me. Liljagren can’t play in the playoffs. Dump that 3 mil and now you’re up over 7 mil in cap space. Rielly / Tanev, McCabe /Trouba, OEL /Hakanpaa or Benoit sounds like a Stanley Cup contending D core to me 🤷🏻♂️ and now you’ve got cap space trade for a Ross Colton and a Blake Coleman or players of similar ilk 🤷🏻♂️

1 for 1 trade, no way! If a few picks or another player is involved, maybe. Trouba is 30. Marner is important to the leafs so this is not a trade I would make.

Let’s be real, Toronto got hit the hardest with Covid, the cap not going up hit them harder, they could have paid those 3 huge money and filled out the roster, oh well shit happens, your not going to get an even trade with Marner, it’s a lose lose, just sign him, who cares, if not let him walk next year and hopefully use the 22 million from JT and Marner and get busy, enough already

Marners not going anywhere how would you replace those 100 pts, you have to get to the playoffs first or it wont really matter, and mitch helps with that. Cap goes up next year and jt comes off the cap thats and extra 14 mil or more to fill out the team at that point….ps i wanted change too but tell the Oilers changing the coach wont make a difference….lets give the new coach a chance to work.😊😊❤
