Jordan Walsh Wants to Play for Boston Celtics in 2025 | Summer League
what up D what’s up had that first game go for you you felt like what are you trying to improve on coming out of that one yeah it’s no secret the first game for me was terrible but I felt like um my kind of my focus was at the wrong thing I feel like I should have focused more on like playing how I would play with if Tatum and then were on the floor and I feel like I was just thinking like I was the only guy on the floor not in a selfish way but as the way I was like I want to get my shots and stuff like that and I feel like I I predicated too much on making or missing shots and I shouldn’t have focused like like on that so do you flush a game like that or do you try to apply that frustration towards more productive outing tonight um I’m definitely flushing that one I don’t ever want to hear about that game ever again but um uh Joe told me one time or DM told me you know you get you get one care to give and then you got to let it go so you know I thought about it yesterday I watch film on it I’ll watch film a little bit today but I got to let it go and focus on this next game how do you not let the last play affect the next play you know you see like year frustrated shots weren’t going down damn you know you that’s like that Split Second as opposed to just say okay let me make a play on defense how do you kind of avoid that yeah see that’s what I’m working on now that’s what you know the guys have been talking to me about coaches um I’m just trying to trying to figure out a way to you know make myself think that that last shot went in and just move on to the next play I feel that’s the biggest thing in my development my growth um especially from last game but from the whole whole season so that’s definitely something I’m working on hopefully I can you know get the mentality of I’ll forget that next play you mention What DJ told you that one time was there anything they said to you after that game the other night uh you know help you move on to the next one or was it just more to sort of like let that one go yeah I mean it was more well um Cassel Sam Cassel told me um about you know my focus on the team you know I’m not judged based off how many shots I make or Miss like I’m judged off of the you know the defense the way I affect the game defensively which is how I’m going to play with the Celtics so um listening to that you know I knew I had to change my mindset and so now I’m going into this next game you know being the defender I want to be crashing the re crashing the boards stuff like that you mentioned the other day how much you want to be part of the Boston Celtics this year has that been like a conversation you had with you know Joe the team things like that or is that just kind of like a goal you’ve set for yourself going into next year um it’s a goal I’ve set for myself for sure um obviously you know the front office and them believe in me they they think they I have a chance so um as long as that window’s open I’m going to try my hardest to get through it and how do you kind of balance that cuz DJ was saying the other day patience is a big thing like they’ve stressed patience with you and you know taking your time on that path how do you kind of balance like I believe I can break through but I’m going to kind of you know go with that patience yeah I feel at the end of the day um me realizing that you know I’m still 20 years old um I still have a lot of time a lot of growth um but you know also at the same time knowing I got to make constant improvements in my game um so just kind of staying in that mindset knowing that you know I have to improve but I can also be good for now to be able to help the team now um so that’s kind of like where I’m at now and that’s kind of how I’m moving throughout the summer league and I’ll move out through training camp in the season how was the advice from Cassel B like him being an OG seen so much in this league want a CHP and all that uh I mean everybody values his opinion you know being a coach and a player who a guy who played for a long time was accomplished so much you know he has a different perspective than like you know Joe or any other like coach who hasn’t played so to be able to get his his inside and what he thinks you know it’s pretty important I mean everybody can help you understand like all the techical stuff remember all the game plan stuff what does he help you just far as like figuring out a situation managing your emotions throughout a game and all that kind of stuff yeah with him it’s more um cuz he gives a different perspective so for him it’s more like he understands like what it’s like to be a player he’s kind of more like all right yeah you missed it so what like you’re not going to he’s going to be like you you’re not going to shoot again like so that’s kind of like how his how he takes it Joe’s more like you know a little more aggressive and a little a little different approach but um yeah Sam just kind of like more laidback like yeah I get it like I did that a million times before like just hit hit the next one thanks
Jordan Walsh talked about his terrible performance in Celtics vs Heat, moving on from it and misses while in games, and his goal to play with Boston rather than Maine in his second season.

Jordan Walsh need improve his pull-up jumpshot + THREES + footwork + floater this summer
He pressed. Was just shooting to shoot, was sped up, and let frustration take over.
I get it – finished the G-league season playing really well, got to play some good looking minutes at the end of the C's regular season, got to prepare for a playoff run, a finals, and he's finally getting to play again – I can understand wanting to show out. Especially difficult for a dude who wears his heart on his sleeve. I think when he gets back in a bit of a rhythm, gets to jam a few stolen balls, he'll sort it out. The talent is there, he cares, he works. I think he'll be fine.
