Jake DeBrusk has left the Boston Bruins | More free agent signings

what’s up Bruins fans I’m here to give you the latest info on your beloved Boston Bruins the Boston Bruins have signed more players some I didn’t even know who they were we’ve lost some players of free agency and the Boston Bruins announced a new schedule for next [Applause] season after all the excitement had died down from announcing linol and zadorov signings the Boston Bruins had more players to add in addition to both LOM and zorov they signed Max Jones Riley Tu Cole keki Jordan ostel bill Sweeny honestly I truly truly love that name just it just you know it’s just so good Jeffrey Vil now if you hadn’t heard of any of these players don’t worry because I hadn’t heard of many of them as well myself besides Max Jones Jones is a 6-3 Winger who played last season for the Anaheim Ducks scoring five goals and got 10 assists in 52 games but was only averaging around 12 minutes a night he is a former first round pick and has spent the past six seasons with Anaheim but you can see by his size why the Bruins signed him the Boston Bruins always like their players with size and cam NE made it clear they wanted to get bigger for next year Don Sweeney was asked about Max Jones and this is what he had to say he really covets the opportunity to come here Max has been an intriguing player not just because of where he was drafted but the size of the player the ability to for check the ability to possess pucks he’s shown a willingness to get to the net can finish a little bit more if pushed up the lineup and plays with the guys that you know that’s what we’re going to find out in terms of Max yes and I’m aware that that quote the English is terrible on it Max signed a two-year deal worth 1 million per season and I would think he’d be a bottom pair Winger with the Boston Bruins I’m sure he’ll get every opportunity to find his spot on the roster but I’m going to guess he’ll either be on the third line or fourth line I actually picture him with Frederick and ptra I think it’d be a great line to jump off Sweeney’s comments I think they might try him alongside ptra and Frederick on the other side he can be that net front presence for the line and also be the guy that throw his body around if anybody wants to take Liberties on ptra it would allow Frederick not to have to always be the first to punch people in the face and and then he can cheap in more offensively if he isn’t in the Box all the time I think Frederick could be like a 20 goal scorer in this league if he just stays out of the box now the other players that got signed I truly have never heard of any of them and I do think they will be in Providence for next year as they’ve all signed two-way deals Riley tff is another big boy coming in at 66 played wing for five games for Colorado last season and got one goal and one assist TFT is also a former first round pick and was selected 25th overall by Dallas in 2016 my guess is the Bruins are hoping he can contribute and battle for a spot in the bottom six because of his size he can be an asset I tried looking up the other guys but honestly I really couldn’t find anything that was worth even talking about our other story is a couple of now former Bruins have found new homes Dan Heinen drik forber and Jake de bruss all signed with the Vancouver Canucks the Bruins just signed Lyn Holmes the door off who previously played for Vancouver so why didn’t they just do a trade it just would have made way more sense you know they could have got to signing these guys earlier but you know it is what it is maybe one of these guys had a contract taken away and then they were made available at the last minute we’ll never know heining gets to go back home as he’s from Vancouver and signs a 2-year deal for 2.25 million a season he was on a PTO last year for Boston and was arguably the best value contract on the team last season for the Bruins Heinen got 17 goals and 32 points in 72 games but he was only making 775,000 Heinen was a Swiss army knife for the Boston Bruins and could play in every situation he even spent a couple shifts on defense last year he has a strong two-way game and was able to chip in with some goals when needed with cap space being what it is I’m sure the Bruins wanted to sign sign him but they just couldn’t fit him in to make it work Derrik forbert also signed with with Vancouver but signed a one-year deal at 1.5 million forbert was a penalty killed specialist when he first arrived to Boston but after his injury last year had troubles getting back into the lineup ly played so well that when he got his call up he instantly made forbert Expendable since they had been getting slower over the years and wasn’t as effective what he was in the past Peak on the right side provided more than what forber did when it came to physicality and was fasteredits let’s talk about the player that a lot of fans wanted to stay in Boston which is Jake debrusk but Vancouver fans seemed delighted he signed with them it was no secret after the end of the season that it looked like Jake debrusk and the Boston Bruins weren’t on the same page at all Jake was publicly making it everyone that would listen that he wanted to stay in Boston but Don Sweeney pretty much gave him like the cool story bra as his comments about the negotiations told a totally different story Sweeney was quoted as saying I suspect Jake will head to UFA and test the market remain consistent that we have been in negotiations with Jake haven’t had any productive talks in quite some time at the end of the day that’s his prerogative to see what July 1st brings him 5.5 million a year for 7 years doesn’t sound like a laot but I guess for the Bruins it was a bridge too far A lot has been said about de bruss so-called inconsistencies which I discussed in a previous video that I don’t think to be true I honestly think the Bruins decided they had needs to fill at Center and defense and that was more important than resigning de brosque and they just couldn’t do both I’m sure de Bros will thrive in Vancouver but I do have my concerns with him getting along with their Coach Rick talk it was no secret that de Brusque wasn’t respond to Bruce Cassidy’s coaching style especially after sitting about as a healthy scratch and then he requested a trade while Cassidy was still coaching the Bruins Jake is a great hockey player but it seems he isn’t too fond of being pushed to be a better hockey player but we’ll see how it works out for him in Vancouver Sweeney has mentioned that they want to give more of a chance to the young players in the system to see if they can play with the Bruins this season lysel and merkulov look to be the players the Bruins want to give an opportunity to make the team Sweeney added the youngsters lysel and meroff will be given an opportunity to make the NHL roster for this upcoming season I think this year Patra and beer were good examples they played well enough to earn their opportunity and I would say meroff and lysel or Riley Duran keep going down the list just pin your ears back train your ass off this summer and come with the intent that there’ll be an opportunity here if you’re the best player then we’ll find a way to get you in the lineup melov played four games for the Bruns last season but he was unable to register a point he was only playing around 10 minutes a night and from what I saw he wasn’t exactly given the opportunity to do much mof scored 30 goals for Providence so he has the the scoring touch to match his speed and his finesse he’s my Darkhorse rookie to make an impact on the Bruins roster if he makes the club Bell was injured last season but was able to get 15 goals in 56 games with a total of 50 points for Providence last season Scouts have been raving about him for his skating and his hockey sense if both lysell and meroff make the Bruins out of camp we could be in for a treat the Bruins don’t have much in their Prospect system but lysell and meroff could prove those prospects rankings to be false for some reason the hockey media always ranks the Bruins at the bottom of the league for prospects but I can say when they hit with a player they hit both swayman and lowai were both rated very low in any of the rankings for the last couple of years but you look at them right now and you just wonder are these rankings even real at this point A lot of times you look at the hockey news and I look at these rankings and I’m just like all these teams that are up there Columbus all that the teams continue to fail year after year look at La for the last eight years they’ve been almost number one in most rankings that team still struggles only time will tell if these for these kids but hopefully one of them can make the team out of the camp the Boston Bruins have announced their schedule for next season the Bruins will launch the season on the road against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday October 8 the black and gold will return to Boston for their home opener against the Montreal Canadians on Thursday October 10th the club will culminate its centennial celebration during the 24-25 season when the Bruins host the Montreal Canadians for the Centennial game on December 1st 2024 the 100th anniversary of the club’s first ever game against the Montreal Maroons Boston will play 16 of their 41 home games on the week weekend which includes seven matina games the Bruins will conclude the 2425 regular season at TD Garden against the New Jersey Devils some notable games are November 9th the Bruins play at home to the Ottawa Senators and lenus Omar makes his return to Boston since the trade November 26th the Vancouver conu are in town so there’ll be a lot of money on the boards in both dressing rooms and we’re going to have to sit through so many player videos November 29th against the Pittsburgh Penguins it’s where we get to see Matt grizli make his return for the first time ever in a road sweater that wraps up today’s video to stay up to date on all the news surrounding the Boston Bruins Please Subscribe and drop me a like if news breaks surrounding the Boston Bruins be sure to check The Boston Bruins have signed more players than Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. They have signed Max Jones, Riley Tufte, Cole Koepke, Jordan Oesterle, Billy Sweezey, and Jeffrey Viel, and I do my best to tell you who they are.

Three players are no longer Bruins, and they all signed with the Vancouver Canucks. Jake Debrusk, Derek Forbort, and Danton Heinen.

Sweeney discusses that Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov will have a good shot at making the team.

and finally, the Boston Bruins the schedule for next season

  1. I mean, I feel like they could use still a depth defenseman, someone who could be a 7th guy like shattenkirk was. There’s still some out there like Jan Rutta, could get him cheap under 1 million. Also, I think they could use a right wing as well. This team would be set if they had one more right winger. But right now they only have 7 million in space, korpi contract kinda making things difficult just a tiny bit because we could’ve used that space elsewhere. But other than that, I feel like we’re good. I just still feel like we need to address having a right wing.

  2. Good video by the way. I feel like the Bruins are trying to get tougher, adding guys like max jones 6’3, tufte 6’6, viel 6’3, Kastelic 6’4, zadarov 6’6. Some good, heavy additions that will certainly help the team out in terms of physicality. the Bruins did get pushed around by the Panthers a bit, so hopefully that won’t happen again in a playoff series. obviously worry about scoring as well. Hopefully, Lindholm will address that.

  3. When Debrusk only signed for 5.5M, it proves how incompetent Sweeney really is. I was expecting Jake to get a minimum 6X6. So for Sweeney to let him go for such a small cap hit for what he brings to the table is idiocrasy. We will have to see if Lindholm can create the same output he had when he was playing with Gaudreau and Tkachuk. So far only Tkachuk has found any success since the three have been split up.

  4. If you don’t think DeBrusk is inconsistent go take a look at the numbers. Contract year last year and he puts up that kind of season 😂 way to boost your value 😂. 7 years at $5.5 mil NO THANK YOU that money can be spent on someone that’s more consistent and don’t disappear for chunks of the season. Brickley even called him out last year. This is a guy that was crying about Cassidy hahaha just wait until he plays for Tocchet he’ll be asking for a trade after 1 season 😂. DeBrusk is soft and doesn’t take well to getting coached hard he turtles up and wants to be traded instead of going out there and showing a coach he can do it.

  5. im a big JD supporter but give me Z and lindy jr. any day of the week. the bruins defense is huge now.

  6. MY GOD HELP VANCOUVER DEBRUSK WAS THE WORST! ALWAYS SKATING AROUND DOING CIRCLES! YEA HE CAN SCORE A GOAL IF HE HAPPENS TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME BUT SO CAN'T ANYONE ELSE!

  7. I can only assume Boston wasn’t interested in retaining Jake DeBrusk even at $5.5 million which isn’t outrageous. They saw an extremely skilled fast player who disappeared for stretches and when he got physical DeBrusk got hurt. They never wanted DeBrusk, I still want them to try and trade for a scoring winger.

  8. Sad to see Jake go. Feels like the end of an era….
    Max Jones –
"…would allow Frederick to not be the first one to punch people in the face" 😆
That's funny – it is so true -we can't say these things out loud anymore!

Was hoping Heinan would stick around. Yes, absolutely the best value contract.

This season will be interesting – lots of new Jersey numbers to learn. But we have some new player highlights to keep us entertained over this summer

It's been a whirlwind of 48 hours – thanks for putting it all together.

    Go Bs!

  9. Just to add one more thing about DeBrusk that not a lot of people mentioned is, when he’s not putting up goals or points and, when he’s in a drought, he is invisible. he has absolutely no physicality to his game no snarl no pushback. I’ve watched him since 2017 and, he’s only had one career fight (which is fine) and he never hits which is fine, but if Jake DeBrusk isn’t putting up goals, if he’s not scoring.. he’s invisible. It’s sad because about three or four years ago, I thought he could be an elite top six player for the Bruins, but it just didn’t work because of his inconsistencies, and I think Jim noticed that, that’s why he was shuffled around the lineup he would bounce up-and-down the lineup constantly he never found a spot in the last year or two permanently. I think it’s best. We let him go. It’s too much money for too long for inconsistency troubles.
