Stamkos to Utah!!!
I love the Canadian media shade. They f course stammer is going to the fing Leafs
I don't get why Lindell being top 6 would surprise you; he is the second best Finniah defender in the league right now.
As a Tampa resident and Lightning fan. I'd prefer Stamkos to stay here. But at the same time, I think if he left, we'll survive. He's on the back end of his career. Yes he stil has some good years. But depends on the price.
I think it would be weird to see Steven Stamkos playing for a team other than Tampa Bay.
Stamkos to Chicago?
Stamkos to Detroit… yzerman connection?
I feel like Stamkos outlived his time in Tampa, come home back to Canada. Tampa doesn't want you no more. Seeing all these comments about taking old yeller out back.
Stamkos to Anaheim! Please?
If the nucks can't get Guentzel we will happily welcome Stamkos!
The NBA manner of trading a draft pick….Human Chattel? Terrible optics not to mention culture, values.
Stars will resign Tanev. Book it!
Stamkos to MTL
welcome to the NBA where the fouls are only on no names and the draftpicks dont matter.
As a Pens fan…Yes to Stammer. we've got to stay the oldest team!
Wow what a steal for a top 5 goalie in the league. Such a generous guy it’s clear he wanted to be in Nashville. Best goalie contract in the league and one of the best overall contracts in the league!
Hats down to Tampa! I’m all for loyalty, but also respect. If they communicated openly and if the asking price didn’t make sense for Tampa. I think out of respect to other players and the club difficult decisions need to be made… I’m loving it because they seem to understand that you can keep the team competitive for long time if you’re able to make these kind of decisions… not a Tampa fan, but my entrepreneurial spirit is becoming a fan 😅
In terms of Saros, I used to be the same guy as many and worry about what it means for future… However, the reality is, Saros proved himself. It’s 8 years otherwise the cap hit would be near 10M. At this cap hit and stable performances from Saros they will be able to trade him out. But Askarov isn’t starter yet, he needs experience. I think great decision by Nashville. Stable tandem, and there always be Toronto which will need a new goalie every other year 🤷🏻♂️
Wasn't Suter bought out by Minnesota few years ago? How much he makes from these two teams even if he would decide retire? Or is that cap penalty Dallas have to pay going to the NHL and not to the player?
Sarros MAY be a sign and trade…. wouldn't be shocked. watch for it
According to Pierre Lebrun, the Lightning offered Stamkos an 8 year deal with an AAV at around $3 million. And Stammer, per the report, is looking for $4-$5 million depending on the term. I would offer $4.25 and go from there, that is a damn good deal in my opinion.
Tanev will be a Leaf within 72 hrs.
4 nations cup looks super competitive.
terrible news day was ruined when i found out
Would love to see Stamkos on the Rangers if he comes in at a reasonable price. His grit and leadership role will be so helpful in a playoff run next year. I think Messier was 33 when the Rangers last won. Stamkos is now 34.
The Lightning have Serious cap issues, with only a little over $5mil available, barring a trade. Stsmkos won't do that home town discount; which then leads to the other top free agents, like Guentzel, etc. Will Stamkos be in limbo, awaiting other dominoes to fall? I would think so, despite his pedigree. Would hate to see the Panthers sign him.
The Hurricanes are an interesting conundrum. If they don't re-sign Guentzel, do they make a play for Stamkos? Alot of scenariios brewing.
Why do you only mention division rivals when talking about stamkos leaving? Do you enjoy my pain?
That's the second time suter has been bought out lol
For a minute there, I thought they misspelled "Anton Lundell" but no, it's really Esa Lindell…
Stamkos is staying makes no sense to leave he’s a legend in Tampa got a pretty decent offer from us and we’re still contenders with a solid core, coach, and vasi. Detroit might make a run at him but who else??? That would be worth it?
Canada-with Marchand and Crosby, great connection but aren't they too old now for high compete tourneys.?
Stamkos is signing with Florida $3.5mil 2 year deal with conditional 3rd year.
I can’t muster any interest whatsoever in this “Four Nations” thing.
Stamkos thinks he is better than he actually is.
Slow, defensive blunder, not needed for their first cup.
Great shot, thats it.
Stammer in Vancouver could be a great get considering Guentzel is likely to sign in Carolina. Stamkos will be cheaper and I’d rather have him for 4 years @ $5M than Guentzel for 8 years @ 8.5M
Stamkos is going to Detroit
Should never happen for any reason. I’m an isles fan. But what Stamkos did for Tampa can’t be understated and he can’t be replaced.
STAMMER WILL STAY IN TAMPA BABY LFG
The NBA draft trading system is 100% backwards. Between that and their 2nd rd taking place in a tv studio, the NHL outclasses the NBA with their draft by 10x.
It should be a five nations tournament. I miss Russia.
Finnish defense is not very deep so Lindell is already a lock. Not to say he isn't good player, but out of these 24 for players he is only one who isn't a star player in your normal sense. Hintz would have been as obvious lock also so maybe they just wanted to go with 3 forwards and 2 d-man.
If Stamkos goes to FL for less money and Reinhart stays for less money then the market demands, they will become the number 1 most hated team in the NHL because they just won the cup and they are adding more pieces for less money then other teams are offering. However, super teams in the NHL of older players never seem to work out. Someone posted Reinhart was doing 7.5 million for like 7 years or 8 years. Didn't see any follow ups so it must have been garbage.
Stamkos should be Boston's priority on Monday
Bump
Stamkos would be perfect for Detroit
Wouldn't mind to see Stamkos in Nashville. With a good amount of young talent and some well-seasoned vets already on the roster, maybe Trotz will see a fit. 👀
Stamkos to Buffalo 5 years at 11 million
Using Soros in a thumbnail for a vid about Stammer heading to market was oddly prescient…
