So I’ve been doing my first fight camp and at 38 years old, it’s been taking a big tole on the body so these recovery methods have been a big part of the camp.
In this video I show you 4 of the best recovery methods and give a breakdown of what they are, what the treatment is like and how much of an effect it has.
The first method is the hyper baric oxygen therapy.
These are a few of the main benefits of this treatment
Enhanced healing: It can stimulate the growth of new blood vessels, which can increase the supply of oxygen to damaged tissues and promote healing. It can also reduce inflammation, which can help speed up the healing process.
Improved tissue oxygenation: By breathing pure oxygen at a higher pressure, the amount of oxygen in the blood can increase significantly. This can improve the amount of oxygen delivered to tissues throughout the body, which can improve overall tissue function.
Increased oxygen to the brain: The increased oxygen levels in the blood during HBOT can also improve brain function. It can enhance cognitive function, improve memory, and even improve symptoms of certain neurological conditions such as stroke or traumatic brain injury.
Decreased risk of infection: HBOT can help increase the effectiveness of the immune system by increasing oxygen levels in the blood. This can help reduce the risk of infections and speed up recovery from existing infections.
Although this therapy has a lot of benefits, I honestly didn’t get that instant hit of feeling better, however, I did have a great sleep that night.
The next method is
Compression therapy. Here are some of the key benefits of the treatment…
Improved Circulation: Compression therapy helps to improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage in the affected area. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with poor circulation or those who are recovering from injuries or surgeries.
Reduced Swelling: Compression therapy can help to reduce swelling and edema in the affected area. This is because the pressure applied by the compression garment helps to push excess fluid out of the area, which in turn can reduce discomfort and improve range of motion.
Improved Athletic Performance: Many athletes use compression therapy to improve their performance and aid in recovery. Compression garments can help to reduce muscle fatigue and soreness, improve endurance, and decrease the risk of injury.
Treatment of Certain Medical Conditions: Compression therapy can be used to treat a variety of medical conditions, including lymphedema, varicose veins, and deep vein thrombosis. In these cases, compression garments are often prescribed by a healthcare professional as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
Increased Comfort: For individuals who spend long periods of time sitting or standing, compression therapy can provide relief and increase comfort. Compression garments can help to prevent swelling and discomfort associated with prolonged sitting or standing, which in turn can improve quality of life.
For me, this treatment feels great and definitely does have a lot of proven benefits, but it is time consuming and is mainly focused on the legs
The next method and my personal favourite is contrast hydro therapy
These are the key benefits:
Reduced Pain and Inflammation: Contrast hot cold therapy can help to reduce pain and inflammation in the affected area. The cold temperature causes vasoconstriction, which can help to reduce inflammation and pain, while the hot temperature causes vasodilation, which can help to increase circulation and promote healing.
Improved Athletic Performance: Many athletes use contrast hot cold therapy to improve their performance and aid in recovery. The alternating temperatures can help to reduce muscle fatigue and soreness, improve endurance, and decrease the risk of injury.
Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Contrast hot cold therapy can help to reduce stress and anxiety. The alternating temperatures, along with the relaxation and stress-reducing effects of warm water, can help to promote a sense of calmness and relaxation.
Improved Immune Function: Contrast hot cold therapy can help to improve immune function by increasing circulation and reducing inflammation. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with compromised immune systems.
With contrast hydro therapy you get that instant hit of feeling better. That’s why this is my favourite form of recovery after hard training.
The final method is cryotherapy
Cryo definitely gives you that instant hit of feeling better and the best part of this one is it only takes 3 minutes!

Watching your journey
Thanks bro for the info. I'll for sure try it these days 👊
👍👍👍
Hey Logan as a rehab professional, I’m curious to see you try a 3:1 ratio with contrasts baths (ie. 6 mins hot 3 min cold) for 4-6 cycles then finish off with cold and see if it makes a difference! Some of my patients have reported good results with this.
Also great to see your progression! Came across your vids in the pandemic and definitely helped me further in my personal boxing development.
Amigo thanks for all the fight camp videos. Have you tried any breathing techniques like double inhale, nose breathing and mouth taping at night can help with gas tank and correct tongue posture and a closed mouth can improve one’s chin. Also for recovery Khabib used to talk about sleeping a lot, and napping between trainings. Have you been sleeping more during this camp? I don’t know how much you can make public but it’s fascinating to hear what you’re doing to prepare. It’s impressive how fast your losing weight bro it’d be cool to see what diet and strength plan (like how about the old Tyson neck exercises) coach has you on and if you plan to cut weight in a future camp video. Cheers mate we’re all pulling for ya.
You ever done that red light therapy big man?
You got this brotha
