He was a eighth-round pick by the Caps in 1994. Never went pro, however.
He's the great-grandson of Hall-of-Famer and overall hockey legend Lester Patrick.
He was born in Leesburg, so he's a local guy!

People are yelling about nepotism but ignoring he’s worked in the org and been breathing hockey for decades.
Not far-fetched to assume he had a role in our recent additions at the very least as a collaborator. It should calm some nerves having BM still at the table even with a new title, he will be crucial for providing insight to CPat
Also, his great-great-great grandfather Augustus Patrick is the person the old Patrick Division was named for.
^^^This ^^^may ^^^or ^^^may ^^^not ^^^be ^^^true.
I’m pretty excited for his leadership (as excited as one can be for a new GM), he’s been living and breathing Caps hockey for well over a decade.
I hope this ends up being a great decision.
