As long as he does not overpay, Ekblad would be a great addition. The problem is how to make room for him, I doubt Florida is willing to take Petry/Holl unless paid very salty extra.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve seen it a few times but I think it’s just been pure speculation (i.e. guy in last year of contract on cap tight team + team looking for good RD).

Oh God this would be excellent. All depends on who moves for him of course but we actually get like a REAL pro defenseman. Then we have Ekblad and Seider on the right side of two different lines we actually don’t have to grind Seider into dust in key defensive situations

I looked up this tweet and his replies. He took Pagnotta saying Ekblad is being shopped and the NHL network saying Ekblad would be a good fit in Detroit and decided to call it a rumor. They are not linked in anyway whatsoever. Clickbait bullshit fuck this guy
