As a wild fan I know we make terrible trades but come on even we aren't that dumb
And we just make moves to protect our 4 main D line for the expansion draft

Thank you. Can we put this rumor to sleep? There’s no scenario where Dumba is a solution to our problems defensively or cap wise
We are in need of a center which is why this trade won't likely happen, but we are in need of right shot forwards because we don't really have much but 3 on our roster.

Then we ask for Nylander, a 2021 2nd, and Liljergen.
You have a 26 year old bona-fide defensemen who still has game-breaking ability because of his physical ability and cannon shot from the blueline. Him turning the puck over will give you headaches sometimes, but it's really because he takes chances. He's offensive minded.
You then have Donato who has the ability to still net you 30 goals if given the opportunity and a change of scenery. Has an excellent release. Sniper type of game.
Firstov is a prospect entering his sophomore year in college (UCONN) after a good freshman year. He has a great shot and can make high percentage plays. Can show grittiness, but can provide goal scoring. Has 30 goal upside if everything works out. Needs to work on his skating a little more. For how much we suck you guys might up having a top-10 pick and get more blueliners who are close to being NHL ready.
Meanwhile we get Nylander who fills in one of our needs with game-breaking ability. Also we get a top-4 guy who will be a great partner for Brodin. A dominant Swede pairing. We get a draft pick out of it to build more at center which is our worst position that needs tweaking.
Please Dubas keep sinking the leafs by doing this trade.

Did we learn nothing from the Tyson Barrie fiasco? Dumba is just another version of him. Wild will want Nylander. Who's going to replace his goal production? Jeremy Bracco? Don't see why leafs can't settle for Manson, or Demelo, or Gudas or Tanev. They need more grit and guys who actually know how to play D. Trade Johnsson and Bracco to the ducks, get this done already…

Leafs need d who stop plays the cycle and legit guys who can play pk mins just like in the forward postion everyone there seem like they can play on the powerplay no one looks like they are made to be a pk guy
So Steve, you keep on suggesting that the Leafs should go out and acquire someone who is a rightie like David Savard, who plays like David Savard, has a mindset like David Savard, and has a short-term, sub-$5 million contract like David Savard. Then you kinda wave your arms to indicate ‘but who knows how to find someone like that?’.

The goal for Dubas isn’t to go find a way to become the Blue Jackets. So quit going on and on about how the Leafs need someone that “can defend”.
The “vision” is clearly having guys that have speed and can gain possession and keep it, and can move the play up the ice.
Guys like Dumba are exactly what the Leafs are looking for but only if Guerin let’s him go for a good value.
Could see Dubas pushing the Kerfoot angle with ++ being Dermott and a prospect like SDA.
