Ducks could have grabbed demedov then traded back up for a defensemen. Ooof they blew it
Yakemchuk looks like an offensive stud. I trust they made the right decision. At least we know he doesnt play in a country that could hold players back.
As a Blackhawks fan, I'm absolutely shook at how bad KD did this draft.. overreached on our 18th and 27th pick. Passing on Hage/Eiserman at 18 was insane.. skipping Demidov for levshunov is criminal.
Demidov and Hage alone makes MTL this year's draft ultimate winners. We'll know for sure 3-5 years from now
Grav how can you give ottawa a D? wtf lol. We needed a right handed physical defenceman with scoring upside and we got that, we needed scoring wingers and we got 3, we added a 6'7 defenceman in Eliasson who's playing at Michigan next year and he's a bit of a project but he plays more physical than silayev does and shows alot of upside, and on top of that we got the most underrated player in the draft in javon moore…. i don't understand the logic here. This is atleast a B+ draft
Sooooo, let’s review your assessment of Toronto choosing Easton Cowan last year: ahh yes, here we go, “D- or maybe even a F”! So how did that turn out? CHL player of the year! OHL playoff MVP! OHL Championship and lost in final of Memorial Cup. Ohhh man, your assessment looks pretty putrid now doesn’t it, hasn’t aged well at all!

As a philly fan to me there 1st rnd pick sucked to what they could have gotten 🤬 the rest of there picks were ok
I’m trusting Danny Brière as a Flyers fan. They liked Luchanko more than Helenius and even Eiserman and I think that’s okay. They tried to be aggressive and move up, but it didn’t work out. So, they’re now stocked up for next year’s deeper draft and took some nice low risk guys this year. I get why they didn’t get a high grade and that’s okay
Ok, so you just re-word the player summary on eliteprospects and you expect anyone to actually believe you know anything about these prospects.

Zeev Buium at 12 was definitely a shock. I’m not sure which (if any) of the Iowa dmen prospects have the best shot of making it so this was a dream outcome for the Wild.
Buffalo gets an F-
One of Danford's strengths is his skating… What are you talking about? And he's small? If 6''1' is small then idk what to say. Seems like you just don't know about any of the guys they drafted vs actually watching them play. You gave the Cowan pick an F grade last year. Way too early to be giving D and F grades on guys you clearly didn't watch
I think Detroit did pretty well in the draft. A B grade is fair. We are still scratching our heads regarding the Wallman trade though.
I thought Sweeney did a good job with limited picks Dean Letourneau is a stud, Groenewold is a lot like Carlo, and I’m very exited about Morello being a middle 6 Swiss Army knife
Solid video and I agree with your assessment of the Blues. If you're picking 16th in this draft you can either go high floor low ceiling and get a solid NHLer or take a chance and possibly end up with a star. We got two solid building blocks on defense with our first two picks and considering our prospect pool is pretty strong (Snuggerud, Dvorsky, Lindstein, Stenberg) we can afford to take a risk on a guy like Jiricek.
I hope to god Ottawa fires Don Boyd and that scouting team. Absolutely brutal. I can get behind Yakem but Eliasson at 39 is just ridiculous with Basha, Stiga, Ritchie all just sitting there when we have no winger prospects.
Habs had such a weird draft, A+ solely off of Demidov, Hage was really good at 21 then the rest was really meh player wise with a cool family connection.

@graviteh once you got to Vegas it's like someone got after you for being too loud! You were so subdued for that second half
You went through all picks by most teams but when you got to my team, the Habs, you didn't say anything about seven out of the 10. I waited through the whole video to hear some details about their picks after Koivu and you didn't mention any of them by name. Disappointing.
Devil's getting anything for Holtz is fine.. he got passed up by his own country for 3 non NHL players and was relegated to the 4th line. Marino was eh but Pesce is all but confirmed for NJ so they had to move him… If you think about it as Marino for Pesce + 2 2nds you take that every day of the year and leap day

I would’ve liked to of seen St. Louis package up one of their extra 2nds and one of their extra 3rds to move up to 12 to grab Buium

If Montréal made one trade where they got like Necas or something they would have the best. I think in terms of draft picks for value. They are 1st or 2nd in terms of actually drafting
Sorry, but I disagree with your assessment on Ottawa. They filled every need in this draft which was getting a RHD, scoring wingers and they have an identity which is to become tougher since this team was brutally soft last season. Really liked their Jevon Moore pick as well and he could be the biggest sleeper of this draft. I give Ottawa at the very least a C+ and at most a B+.
If the wild would've traded up from 140 or 142 to get colton roberts, I think I mightve been the happiest man on earth with this draft. Still A+
Let's say the sharks didn't get Celebrini. I'd still be happy with the sharks overall draft this year.
I think you were too kind to Anaheim. Even if they end up being right about Sennecke, there's nearly 100% chance he'd be there at #6 and most likely at #8 even. That pick had big trade value when you know how much a lot of teams wanted Demidov or even Lindstrom. Could probably have added a pick in the 35-40 range plus something else AND still gotten Sennecke.

mac swanson might be the steal of the draft. saw so many fargo force games this past szn and he was so much to watch. always in the right position and set up his teammates so so well.

I would give the Devils a B+ for selecting Russian defenseman Anton Silayev, Russian goalie Mikhail Yegorov, Finnish winger Kasper Pikkarainen, Swedish winger Herman Traff, Canadian center Max Graham, Finnish goalie Veeti Louhivaara, and Czech center Matyas Melovsky.
demidov is defenetly the biggest steal of the draft
It’s pretty moronic to rate daft picks, when not a game has been played in the NHL.
I felt the way after Ducks took Leo over Fantilli but they knew what they were doing. Leo is sick. They must have seen something in this draft to let Demidov go by.
What is so funny is back in 2017 everyone said the Red Wings got an A+ because of Zadina and Veleno.
In reality, it’s more like a D as Zadina was one of the biggest busts in Red Wings history and Veleno, a solid grinder type player.
Utah and sabres had a terrible draft in my opinion, Philly, Detroit, and Seattle screwed up too
As a leafs fan, Danford seems like the defenseman version of Cowan. Everyone was hating on the Cowan pick at the time and one year later it’s looking great. Not worried, I’m content to let Wes (Wes Clark, the leafs head of Amateur scouting) cook and wait to judge the picks until a couple of years.
