i said it in the other thread but there’s an extremely easy comparison to K’Andre Miller (who is Devon Toews when he isn’t with Trouba). i’m pretty sure he *also* used to be a forward and converted to D man. does a lot of things that the modern D man does well. very good stick and zone entry denial D man. very mobile on the back end and skates for zone exits well. very predictable selection from Drury: big + American + US NTDP
I had much higher ceiling players in my lists but this is still a good pick. a lot to like

My dream pick at this spot. I love this kid’s game so much. Basically, the shutdown version of Miller and going to the most professional-lite school (North Dakota) next year will help tremendously. No other notes, A+ pick. Great job Drury.

I have been following him for awhile now. Yeah the offense kinda sucks but that’s okay bc he still is a pretty decent passer and just elite defensively. Will watch to see how he does at UND this year bc that will be telling but love this pick for back half of the first

I don’t know man. The main problems we had against Florida were zone exits and creating o-zone opportunities against one of the best defensive and forechecking teams in the league. He has noteworthy potential on the zone exit side of things but I think a forward would have been a better pick. We’ll see I guess.
