Heard they like Connelly and Letourneau
Will they use it to move up?
It’s basically 3rd n 7rd. Those picks most likely never make nhl. Moving up 5 spots is huge if you look at simulations. For example Liam Greentree comes into play now!
This draft is definetely one of the most exciting in recent years
There goes the chance us of getting Justin poirier. Oh well. I’m hoping this gives them the opportunity to get Connelly.
Exactly, who is going to be available at 21st?
setting the table for something BIG!!!!!! Lets go Kent ''MR. Clean'' Hughes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes no sense on the surface.
A bit of an overpay but they have someone in mind and that makes me happy
This might be to set up something else also, still wanting to move up more.
There gonna try to move up again 😊 at the draft
3 potential outcomes in my view for this pick. Montreal keeps it and selects a player they think might not have dropped to 26. They trade it along with a young prospect to acquire an even higher pick in the teens. They use it to acquire a young player.
Maybe for Sacha Boisvert 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Let Hughes cook ! i've been saying this for the last 2 years. he's not done
montreal prospect pool is very large but lack quality, I like the idea of giving up more quantity to improve the quality of the player draft for them
"a really aggressive trade" is a really aggressive overexaggeration LOL
Anybody remembers Jared Tinordi?
I see 2 scenarios here with Montreal. A: They use this 21st overall pick to select Liam Greentree. B: They flip the 21st overall pick + Other assets for Zegras
At this moment… this is a win for the Kings… more lottery tickets and there shouldn't be thaaaaaat much drop off between 21 and 26. Unless Montreal scoops someone who falls. They could both be cooking deals to move around again or acquire players. If this holds, can't wait to see who they each end up drafting.
''REALLY AGRESSIVE TRADE'' ''starts video growling'' ''go up 5 spots''. calm down little guy.
I guess he didn't c anything he wanted with those higher pix so he traded them with his 26th 2 move up. Good trade .
Let’s gooooo
habs want to move into top 14 I believe. they'll keep being active to get there
More to come.
These trades usually happen on the draft floor. The only reason I can think of that would explain why now is that something else is in play, and this needed to be done beforehand.
May not be the complete deal. Wait for it.
I just don't see why they do this unless they are looking to move up further. I smell another big shift coming soon we will see.
Im so curious to know whats up kents sleeves cant wait for tonight
If Chicago, Anaheim, Columbus are dumb enough to take fowards instead of defencemen I WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE for us to draft either Buium or Dickinson and trade Matheson/Barron PRONTO for a double A NHL prospect. like Ruther McGROARTY vs Barron and a third round draft pick would be absolutely fire. for Matheson legit we could aquire Laine but with his 9.9 cap is scary. Laine-Dach-Newhook healthy for a seson would be Frickeshly scary.
Habs probaly trade the kings pick(21)and move up to devils spot(10) or calgary with the 9th pick
I wouldn’t accept such I trade if I was the other team. First pick you want as high as possible. Must be a good trade then.
Probably going to trade it in a package for Necas/Johnson/ McGroaty
198 = 7th round.
No 2nd round pick for 2024, but the day is still young.
Cost SJ their first at 14 (which was Pittsburgh's pick) and 2nd rnd pick at 42 (NJ's pick) to move up 3 spots to 11th
Habs moved up 5 spots and pretty much cost them the same, but with the 7th round pick thrown in. So about the same pick .
Cannon fodder to facilitate another trade? Or who are they looking at that they think wouldn't have been available by 26, but should be available by 21?
Maybe 6'2" 201lbs C in Cole Beaudoin?
ohhhh… something big is in the works
Dude your so cringy in this video
The only way I see this as viable is if Hughes has another deal set up for that 21st pick. The other deal being contingent on getting early 20th spot in the 1st round. So for now I'll withhold judgment but as it stands I see this as a fail at this point in time. Full judgment to be determined. Or perhaps he's got wind that someone ranked early mid teens is falling down the board but won't last to 26 but could be there at 21. I don't know, a 1st, 2nd, and later pick to move 5 spots? I think 1st and 3rd should have done that.
If both Deminov and Lindstrom are not available imagine trade up 21st to get both Tij Iginila and Beckett Sennecke.
Montreal has enough picks to trade 21 and some more picks to get an even better pick
Xhekaj + 21th for philly pick ?
Are the Kings asleep at the wheel?
