Mason Shaw has been informed he won’t be receiving a qualifying offer from the Wild, a league source says. Will make the heart and soul kid an unrestricted free agent Monday. It’ll be a chance to turn the page and start a new chapter.

  1. Extremely disappointed, love that dude. I wish him the absolute best on his next team

Sucks and hope he gets picked up but honestly with the injury history he is a high risk player.

Man that sucks. Shaw is the epitome of a perfect 4th liner. Won’t cost you too much but you know he will be going balls to the wall on every shift and can out compete most other people.

Instead we’re stuck with fucking Freddy Gaudreau.

If he doesn’t get an offer I could see him checking back in with the Wild

Really sucks. Hope he gets another shot because he really deserves it. There’s not a harder working player on Earth than Mason Shaw. You don’t come back from that many knee injuries without working your ass off.

I get it, I understand, it makes sense and I hate it.

What would his QO be? Yes, he’s a very replaceable 4th liner (as much as I love him) but he seems like as good of a candidate as any to be a 4th line/pk/13th forward sort of guy that can come in and out of the lineup without too much fuss. And if you need the roster spot you send him to Iowa and if he gets claimed so be it.

Man not even a league minimum. At the very worst he could help develop the new troop in Iowa.

I suppose he deserves the respect of the Wild’s honesty to let him work the market.
